Headed to the Harbourside Holiday Inn,the Sun after the 4th of July, cool resort, they call it a Key West style resort, being we have two keets in tow,it actually is better than Key West,a bit more accomadating for parrottheads vacationing with Keets.Any B.N.ers frequent that area?

I grew up on IRB....

Had my first job there... my first date... my first...ummm......well you get the idea....
Its a sleepy beach community just a short drive north to Clearwater and south to St Pete.
That resort used to be called Hamlin's landing... on the intracoastal waterway..... its just a short walk to the beach as well as an awesome kite shop and eatery called Crabby Bills. To the north is a fab hole in the wall for Italian ...Pajanoes. Mmmmmm!
And just to the north...across the street is PJs. One of my favorite seafood spots!

Don't know a thing about Indian Rocks, but bravo for taking your kids into consideration!! I always feel bad for kids in KW. There's so little for them to do, and I see them being dragged up and down Duval Street, looking miserable....

Great fish restaurant across the road from the beach, on the Inland Waterway, called The Pub. Will be going back in November for the BEST grouper ever

Also check out a historic place...Ted Peter's Smoked Fish:

Address 1530 Pasadena Ave
Location Just across St. Pete Beach Causeway, St Pete Beach
Phone 727/381-7931
Prices Main courses $8-$18

Frommer's Review
This open-air eatery is an institution in these parts: Ted's has been around since the '50s. Some folks bring their catches for the staff to smoke ($1.50 a pound), while others figure fishing is a waste of time and come right to Ted's table for mullet, mackerel, salmon, and other fish slowly cooked over red oak. Enjoy the aroma and sip a cold one while you wait for your order.

Shoot me a PM with your cell # if you'd like...I'm positive the keets will go comp...
And Topless' suggestion about the Seabird Sanctuary is excellent...especially this time of year when there are lots of little critters to take care of...they do a great job there. We save about 90% of the birds we catch at the marina, but the other 10% we can't, i.e. broken legs, wings, hooks too deeply embedded, get sent to the SS.
