Sandals Whitehouse

Post by Catch&Release »

Thanks to everyone on this board who have helped with my numerous questions about my prospective wedding/honeymoon plans.

My fiancee decided that we're going to the Sandals Whitehouse which is in a more undeveloped area of Jamaica. Advantages for Erin are that she wanted an all inclusive. Advantages for me are that I wanted to be somewhere we could stroll on the beach for at least a mile in the morning and I wanted to stay somewhere kind of quiet. Shockingly, Erin actually let me book the trip and we'll be going over New Years week and getting married on 12/31/07 at 10 am before we head out for a day trip.

The reviews on Expedia and Trip Advisor of the resort are 90% very favorable and Trip Advisor ranks it as the #1 resort in Montego Bay, though technically it's not anywhere near Montego Bay .

Have any of you stayed at Sandals Whitehouse? What did you think? Which side trips should we take; ie Black River, Horseback riding; Appleton Rum tour, etc?

I am an avid fly fisherman. In some of the pictures it looks like there may be some flats and the management has advised me that people can fish on the edges of the resort. Have any of you ever fly fished or flats fished in this area?

Here's a link to the resort

Thanks for all the help.

I don't want to live on that kind of island
No, I don't want to swim in a roped off sea.
Too much for me, too much for me
I've got to be where the wind and the water are free.

Check out this website:

I think I may have found it off of this site, they may be PH's if I remember correctly.

Climbing Dunns River Falls is fun.
