From what I found out from co-workers...

... The reason why Jimmy isn't in Great Woods in Mansfield, MA this year is that the management of Great Woods will not allow tailgating any longer. Anyone caught tailgating will be subject to be thrown out of Great Woods and tickets confiscated.

Another example of venues killing the magic of live concerts. Pretty soon there will be no point in touring, because your main audience will get fed up with all the restrictions on the experience.

Smart move by Jimmy to not try to play their anyway. After a year or two without an ultra-draw like JB, GW may amend their policy.

Well, I'm not sure how much it has to do with the venue wanting to do this and how much it's the Mansfield Police requiring this for them to keep their license.

I know but one of the people who told me lives in Mansfield so they would have heard something in the town meetings (he doesn't live that far from Great Woods so he would have heard something too).

You never know, it could have been something else.

Gee, I don't know..but JB has quite a following in the area. I think the opportunity to play in front twice as many people could be one of the reasons. Twice as many tickets sold for two shows = more revenue for all.

That was my thinking too. Cuts down on scalpers too.
