Here's a pretty good rundown on Hooters........actually, this site is good for all the vegas spots.....
http://www.cheapovegas.com/vegas_casino ... el_id=1045
CASINO:
Table Games: The standard games with extraoridinarily tight rules. Blackjack, Craps, Pai Gow, Roulette, Let It Ride and a couple oddballs. Some of the games will often only have one table working because this place is small and cramped. Some are dealt by Hooters girls, and some are not. Craps usually is not.
Bet Minimums: Five bucks sometimes, but look for it to go to $10 on weekends and other busy times. Craps has standard 3x4x5x odds. Brother, you can get better games than this in town.
Machines: Loads of machines from a penny to $5. There are no full-pay video poker machines; in fact, they are far worse than average. Hey, someone has to pay for those orange shorts.
Cocktails? Decent service. Some waitresses are Hooters girls and some had too much self-esteem to be. Either way, the main bar is conveniently located in the casino and drink waits aren't too bad.
Who Gets Comps? The Owl Club ain't too bad at 0.67% in comps. Free rooms start at $14,000 a day in play. Play a lot of slots and you'll get some mailings or free room offers. Play the tables at the $25 and up level and you might get some attention, but you need 4 hours of $100 min bets to get a room.

Hooters
I am not real fond of the Hooters casino. First of all it is not new it is a newly remodeled casino. They remodeled the main casino floor but none of the rooms.
I do love the 13 martini bar, their nachos are great and if you are a martini drinker the selection is awesome. The resturant has decent food and the prices are fair, but the service is lacking to say the least.
But then again being a las vegas local I am prone to read and listen to reviews. Hooter's was voted the worst hotel/Casino by thr review journal's readers poll. I have given them a fair shot in my opinon I have gone there serveral times each I was disappointed in the service.
I will however give them one last shot this year and if the service is the same I will just stick to my perch on the 3rd floor balcony at Margaritaville where I know I will be treated well.
Just my two cents.

Oh, yesterdays are over my shoulder. So I can't look back for too long, There's just too much to see waiting in front of me, and I know that I just can't go wrong.”

Let me ask you this... are the rooms better than Imperial Palace?vegas_fruitcakes wrote:I am not real fond of the Hooters casino. First of all it is not new it is a newly remodeled casino. They remodeled the main casino floor but none of the rooms.

Is check-in better than Imperial Palace?
I hate Imperial Palace....if I HAD, really had to, that is the only way I would stay there. I have never stayed off the strip...
Is Hooters one block down from MGM. I have been to Vegas many times I do know what a 'block' means... Just trying to gain perspective.
Or do you have any other hotel suggestions? With in travel reason...ie: monorail is okay access

The rooms at hooters are better than the Imperial. The check-in is about the same in my opinon. Yes it is about a block from the MGM less if you go through the back lot. It is even an easy walk when having too much fun. We have made the trek several times now and it is not very far.
I do not want to give an unfair perception of the place. It is just that I would really like them to stand up to their word this year.
We went to the "pool party" there were no drink specials, the live music was hit or miss, and the service was lacking.
I have only stayed here once and for the price I paid I was not real pleased. Nothing really wrong but I could have got the same service at a Super 8. I just expect more from a Casino. Spoiled I guess.

Only thing I think of when I think of Hooters is the restaurant. All the times I ate there the food was awful.~Hippolyte~ wrote:I'm not going to say that this is exactly why, but I will let you in on a secret.....these twomjeischen wrote:I am not understanding the anti-Hooters rhetoric . . . .are married.magnus & Mr Moon wrote:Personally, I think that is a GOOD answer!gingerbreadman wrote:The MGM IS closer to hooters, but IMO, who cares! I know I'll spend Saturday at Margaritaville, and possibly some after LMS, but staying at Hooters was cheaper, so we went with it. Haven't stayed there before, maybe these people know something we don't.
I decided I didn't need to torture myself THAT much, just to check out "the servers". Must be a better way!

Last year I was playing $5 tables of Blackjack over the weekend. I don't gamble enough to expect comps. Hell I've never had one. I'll take the free drinks and be happy.
The environment was appealing to me. I hardly noticed "Hooters Girls" and when I played blackjack with one dealing it really didn't matter.
THe casino was lively at 9am, 1pm, and 5am. I like the feel and the excitement versus walking into the vast area of the MGM.
The pool party was good. The morning the party was much more lively than the post party. The morning party had a silent auction, some food, and I think there were drink specials then.
This will be my first time staying at the hotel but it looks like an average room.
I will spend a bit of time at Margaritaville this time as I've only popped in on the gift shop. I am figuring at this point Friday afternoon.

The Parrot Dice Lounge kinda like a mirage. Here today and gone tomorrow. You should stop by and say hello when visiting Chicago on tour.

The server thing is over rated BS. The restaurants at the Hotel and Casino are good though if you travel beyond the usual Hooters fried fare.gingerbreadman wrote:Only thing I think of when I think of Hooters is the restaurant. Yeah the street party has been an annual event...... You might want to try ther LMS party Friday night...... Don't show the beach balls to security...wear cargo pants style shorts and stuff the pockets full of beach balls.....I can typically get 24 to 30 in my pockets........Kasey wrote:I think we'll be in the first floor bar at Margaritaville Friday night. Went there last year and had a blast. Lots of good folk.
Can anyone tell me if the street party they had in the alley outside on Saturday afternoon is an annual thing or was it a one time thing for last year?
I would really like to give that a try again. The only problem with it last year was my headache from Friday night.![]()
Figured I need to save myself for the concert. I saw a lot of people at the street party who were at Margaritaville the night before and they weren't exactly pounding them down either.![]()
Man, I am pumped, I need to order some beach balls. Will I have any trouble getting them in through security or will I have to hide them? I know they'll be okay once I'm in.

Is it a "chain" dollar store? Being you and I are in the same region perhaps I can corner some of those for us too. I'll share.STL PARROTHEAD wrote:Morning Vegas trippers!!!!

Blackjacks my fave table game too, unfortunately, it's the worst for getting comps, because of the odds. The casino only has like a 2% take if the player is playing 'perfect' blackjack, which none of us do, especially after a few cold ones. It is possible to get some pretty good deals just by signing up for a players card and putting maybe an hour a day on the machines...mjeischen wrote:Last year I was playing $5 tables of Blackjack over the weekend. I stayed at Hooters last year. Rooms were OK. Easy access from parking garage. (Thank God for wheeled coolers). Played blackjack and some slots. Slot pay out was fair to poor, and as was mentioned earlier lots of strict rules on the blackjack tables. Food was not bad. Pool area was great, but of course it was set up for parrothead partying that weekend. Staff was cool (caught us 'borrowing' the inflated surfboards). If I did't have a place to stay free (with a 'virgin') I would have rebooked with Mike at Tropotravel. I am looking forward to LMS party there this year

Hooters converted this space into a showroom that now hosts 2 shows each night....one a comedian and the other is the Mentalist (a mind reader)....who knows if these shows will still be there in October....however, the 13 Martini bar will not be

I forget which was the martini bar . . . Was that the open lounge right off the casino - coming in the door it was to the left and they usually hosted house/cover bands.karat wrote:BUt they still have liquor - right?
