We got on the topic because we decided we didn't want to do shirts for concert day... which is also on topic.

Please enlighten us with all the information on the meet ups you have planned for us?!!!!

I think the girls are just trying to get other lady pheads opinions.

You don't like it? don't read the posts.

Its three months to the concert. Everyone is making friends. If you want to be a stick in the mud, take that somewhere else!

PS thank you to those that had an opinion about the t-shirts and the swimsuit. I made a decision on them!

As stated most of the banter that has gone on regarding the swim suits is something that is NORMALLY taken to pm around here. You are NOT a moderator and you have no RIGHT to tell ANYONE on this board "to take Thank you (((Connie)))

I don't understand what her problem is with me, but I'm a big girl, so if she wants to take this to pms, fine with me.

The thread is for plans for going to the concert, who's going, where they are staying, what parties they might attend, and the show.

I'm sorry, but it's really not your place to call anyone a 'stick in the mud' or tell anyone to take themselves anywhere else.

Thank you.

Just so that every body understands....there is no bad intent here (or anywhere for that mater) after all it is a Buffett site.
That being said, we generaly tend to use the PM system for the more off the topic and items that are on a person to person nature and not nessasarily needing input from everyone, not that I don't have an opion regarding your swimwear choice, but I don't know that it is in the general interest of the thread, or that anyone else wants to hear my opinion on your choice of swimwear, which at this point is "great, go git choo sum".

With that, Lassie, Timmy and I are climbing back on the thread, knowing that on October 26th we will safely land in Las Vegas to once again be delighted by the miriad of fellow parrottheads flocking to the mother show. While Lassie might worry about all those crazy parrottheads and all the misadventures they will have, I know that she too will relax and have fun!
I love LASSIE!
Thank you  :D

Ok...Just checked the websites....
Trader Vics still has nothing listed other than the opening being in September.
Las Vegas PH club is doing LMS the weekend before. In the past the LA PHclub has done an auction the day of the concert at hooters....but nothing listed as yet......
Margaritaville is listing only the house band as playing each night (note there is no mention of the concerts on their page at all....)

Sooooo....it appears that we are probably still a bit premature for the scheduled events....

Never met the man, but here is my tip. Don't look for Jimmy, Look for Charleston. He is much easier to spot in a crowd.

Good Luck,

Last year Jimmy himself was serving tables and helping people in the gift shop at the Margaritaville cafe a few hours before the concert. We missed him by about 10 minutes, but several people showed me pics from their camera phones.

Update

Post by umbrelladrink200 »

Okay, first of all, everyone just needs to chill the F$^% out!

Secondly, I called Hooters. They are not "officially" open to the public, but they are not monitoring room keys or checking people at the door on Saturday. So we should be good, unless they suddenly become anal retentive.

Lastly, Seminolegrl, thanks for keeping track of everyone. I was originally "+1", which is how you show me on the list, but I just found out that I'm bringing 4 more "virgins" to the show, so put me down as a plus 5, if you'd be so kind.

We've got plans Friday night, but are looking forward to catching up with everyone on Saturday!!! (I promised my buddy that I'd take him out to Primm so he could ride the rolley coaster at Buffalo Bill's) If you've not done that, you should put it on the list. It kicks ass.

1. Springparrot I just want to know all the information about all these meetups you have planned for us that you want us to talk about so badly.

2. Getting "off topic" for approximatly 5 posts did not hurt anyone. again, it is about the meet up, see number 3.

3. It seems that part of the BN meet up is shaping up to the ladies in tiki and pirate style bikini's and shorted hula skirts. I fail to see how planning that is any different from the new york people posting about t-shirts, or the cinnicinati people deciding to produce green and pink shirts.

4. I think that moderators should not publicly attack a poster. If you had a problem with it you could have PMed me, and that goes for spring parrot too. It is really all in poor taste.

5. Last time I checked ph4ever is not going to the vegas show, her coming over to bash me on this thread was more off topic than a "dress code" for the group of BNers actually going to the show.

6. being rude and abrassive is certainly not something that go hand and hand with BN meetups, tailgating, and forum chatting. Thats why I said to take that sort of behavior somewhere else. I do have a right to say that, because I am actually going the vegas concert and I do not want unpleasent people around me. Why would anyone willingly put themselves are someone who rudely calls you out about something than has her friends come and attack you as well. Are we back at the sorority house? give me a break ladies.

6. Thank you to the many PMs I have gotten from the regular posters to this group. Also, I would like to say that if you have considered leaving this thread because of the comments directed towards me, I ask that you don't as I personally believe that ya'll have the most to offer to this group. I did not take the offenses personally. I'd hate to lose a lot of the regular particpants of this forum because people not even going to this concert caused a stir.

Basically what it comes down to is that the women posting here are preturbed about something said by me on an off topic chat thread. They assume I was mentioning the bikini things for other reasons, they already don't like me, and they are rushing to stick up for friends when they are really allienating someone who wants to really be apart of this community. I have even stepped up and am trying to be the organizer. So having said all of that, to the people ACTUALLY GOING to the concert..........

...... I called planet hollywood casino where Trader Vics will be opening. They said the date is still september, that they will have areas for large groups to congregate/rent out if we wanted, but the conciegre said that it would be run directly through them and he did not currently have any access to any reservation system.

Its supposed to be a cool joint. We could maybe meet there... and than go to voodoo on top of the Rio. It has the best view of the strip, they serve tiki drinks also, and they have flairing bartenders. Seems like a good crowd from what I hear. Its more of a super ultra lounge than a club. I could find out more about getting tables or bottle service... honestly, I would like to see if for large groups they would make pitchers or their famous voodoo conncotions. That might be more fun, and we would still get great seating on the patio overlooking vegas.

Again just throwing the idea out there... as always I am open to suggestions. But we can start pooling together suggestions and voting on them. (seems pretty fair, but again if anyone has a better system let me know!)

First you have NO FREAKING IDEA if I'm going to Vegas or not - had you been here longer or possibly read the other threads for tailgates you'd realize it's not unusual to have "Surprise Guests" at any BN flocking or tailgate.

As a member of this board I have the right to participate in any and all discussions - had Jim wanted private forums accessible to only certain members he would have created them. I did not bash you - just pointed out protocol established and asked if your name was Sam - had I wanted to bash you - ask anyone around here I could have done a MUCH better job.

You got problems with the way a moderator handled you - maybe you should follow the rules http://www.buffettnews.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16617
Users should treat the moderators and the board admin with courtesy and respect. Any name calling or using obscene language will not be tolerated. Any issues you have with a moderator will be handled by the admin of the board by sending an email to info@buffettnews.com.
Referring to your first no 6 statement - You really need to back that one up and take a good long hard look into your mirror when you say that. You call for respect when you are in fact guilty of disrespecting quite a number of BN members, some longtime, in that off topic thread you mentioned. Some of us are your mothers age or older - is that how you treat your mother and her peers?

It has been clear from your posts that you are attempting to divide BN into the old people and the younger ones. Does that anger people - yes quite frankly it does yet in the same time you provide laughter and amazement for some.

The age difference here between FRIENDS is vast. Some of us that are friends have HUGE age differences, some ranging from 20 to 35 years difference and from the pm's flying between all of us, well let's just say you're not the only one that is receiving and sending pm's about posts made. Your rudeness toward several of us not only in the off topic thread you mentioned but also this one was causing a pm barrage LONG before I stepped into this thread.
Well...(said in my best Bubba voice) I've been on sabbatical.

FYI - Moderators on this website will often post directly in a thread so all that read here on BN can understand what's acceptable and what isn't.

Discussing t-shirts that all can wear to the concert is one thing, IMHO, but most guys and gals don't look good in bikini's.

And with that.. let's all get back to the gatherings and parties in Las Vegas. 8)
