Arizona woman gives birth to sextuplets, 3 boys and 3 girls

PHOENIX – A 32-year-old woman gave birth to sextuplets today, hospital officials said.
Jenny Masche gave birth by Caesarean section at Banner Good Samaritan Hospital in central Phoenix to three boys and three girls, officials said. They were almost 10 weeks premature, and all but one weighed less than three pounds.
Dr. Jordan Leonard, who is overseeing their care, said the babies should leave the hospital in six to eight weeks.
“We’re very pleased with how they’re doing,” Leonard said.
New father Bryan Masche, 29, said in an interview with The Associated Press last week that the couple was terrified when they learned in December they were going to have six babies.
“We’re blessed and excited,” he said. “I keep coming back to the Bible verse that says, ’God will never leave or forsake us.' "
The couple had tried for years to conceive naturally before turning to artificial insemination, he said. Jenny Masche also used medication to stimulate her ovulation cycle, Leonard said.
The babies are the first known set of surviving sextuplets in Arizona.
They are named Bailey Elizabeth, Savannah Jane, Molli Grace, Cole Robert, Blake Nickolas, and Grant William.

Sounds like this was a Clomid cycle with imsemination. Not an IVF with implanted embryos. Probably had a bunch of follicles that all matured at the same time. Most docs will stop the cycle when that happens....but not all of them. I've seen it happen.Dezdmona wrote:It wouldn't be the first time parrotheads did something to excess.
(Just guessing on the parrothead thing...![]()

(Most fertility Doc's won't implant that many embryo's these days w/o extenuating circumstances.)
Good luck and God Bless them!!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Pinot Noir in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO"

toss one end over the crossbar; tie it off; loop the other end tight; lean forward..CapnK wrote:maybe it's a sideways cross for the parents to hang themselves on...as they become martyrs.RinglingRingling wrote: a big ol' red x to help thru the hard times?
