Coastal Carolina

We're headed to UNC-Wilmington this July on a college scouting mission and thought one of y'all might have a recomendation on a place to stay.
On the beach is preferred, but it doesn't have to be Wilmington Beach.
TIA

there's a nifty old beach place on Wrightsville called the Carolina Temple. very old beach style but with some modern amenities. it's been around for a really long time and is a part of Wrightsville history. family owned too. :D

do you play golf? if so there is a place about 20 - 30 miles south of Wilmington called Brunswick Plantation. a 5 day "visit" package is $170 if you do their 2 hour tour of the grounds. you stay in a condo on the golf course, 2 pools, 3 9 hole courses and about 10 minutes from several beaches. wrightsville is one of my absolute favorite beaches. be sure to stop at the blue water grille on the intercoastal waterway.
if you cant laugh at yourself, laugh at someone else.
