I just wanted to put down a few words about KD Moore and Fingers Taylor's new album, "Beachcombin'".
I'll be the first to admit that I openly criticized "Live at the Tin Goose Saloon" here on BN, saying I could "only tolerate to listen to it once". One of KD's friends passed this along to him, and he said he didn't particularly like that album either (because he was so nervous during the performance), so he wanted to send me a copy of his new CD to make up for it.
I can say that after listening to "Beachcombin'", I liked it a great deal more than "Tin Goose". KD sounds more relaxed, Fingers is amazing (what else is new), and the songs are clever and laid back. It's a perfect addition to your collection of tunes for a lazy summer Saturday in your back yard, or during one of those long summer roadtrips. Having heard this album, I'm thinking about procuring a couple of KD's other studio albums as well.

Tin Goose was the first time KD and Greg played live together, don't judge their collaborations by that album!trojan_sixtyone wrote:I just wanted to put down a few words about KD Moore and Fingers Taylor's new album, "Beachcombin'".

If you like "Beachcombin", and have not heard "Headin South" or "Kickin It Island Style", you will like them alot. KD's songwriting is original and fun, Greg's harmonica work is excellent.
If you get a chance to see them live, it is a fantastic show. KD will play all night if given the opportunity, and Greg plays on enough songs that you get to appreciate how talented he really is. If Greg doesn't play some of his own songs, request them!

I didn't like "live" that much either but I did like Headin' South but was blown away by Kickin it Island Style. I will also say this. KD is one of the best entertainers out there doing independent music. I like a lot of those guys but KD would play all night if Cindy would let himz-man wrote:Tin Goose was the first time KD and Greg played live together, don't judge their collaborations by that album!trojan_sixtyone wrote:I just wanted to put down a few words about KD Moore and Fingers Taylor's new album, "Beachcombin'".

So I am looking forward to hearing Beachcombin.

I never really listen to any live albums that any of the performers I like anyway. I will listen on occasion but always say if I wanted to hear that person/group live, I will go to his/hers/their concert. That being said, I think KD's new album is quite fascinating.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
Life is short, live long!!
I'd rather be a wiseass than a dumbass.

I guess I understand that reasoning, but there are an awful lot of great live albums out there. JB's "You Had to Be There", Warren Zevon's "Stand in the Fire", etc...aeroparrot wrote:I never really listen to any live albums that any of the performers I like anyway.
