I've been there! :D *AWESOME* barbecue! :o

I grew up going there....when it had girls that delivered to your car...Piggie Park , in downtown Charleston......I judge all barbeque by those standards... They had the BEST onion rings ever too!!!

Just thinking about living on the water..and what I'd miss..Little dive places like "Pappy's" and "Bayou Joe's" ....right on the water...and FRESH Fried Grouper Sandwiches.....yuuuummmmmm.....I think that is what they serve you in Heaven.... [smilie=battingeyes.gif]

And going out in a little Jon Boats....either crabbing (with a string, weights and a chicken back ..and a dip net! ) or going up in the River, getting your own oysters...and eating them right there, after opening them with a pocketknife....

Things I miss from other places I've lived or visited:

Mrs. Fearnow's Brunswick Stew (Virginia)
Smithfield Ham (Virginia): cured ham. Salty. Delicious.
Sweet Tea (the South)
Steamed Crabs with Old Bay seasoning (VA, MD)
Grits (the South)
Cassava Pie (Bermuda): a savory "pie" made with cassava (similar to cream of wheat), butter, eggs, and pork. *Delicious* leftovers, fried crispy.
Black Rum Cake (Bermuda): for Christmas. They make it in September then let it sit in the cabinet (unrefrigerated) steeped in black rum until Christmas.
Chicken Biryani (Middle East): chicken buried in rice with the most awesome spices. I ate a LOT of chicken biryani!
Cheese Bread (Middle East): Flat bread slapped on the inside wall of an ancient brick kiln inside a village hut, cooks while you wait. Then the "Cheese Bread Man" reaches into the kiln with a big oven mitt, pulls out the hot bread, slaps a stick of cheese in the middle, wraps it in yesterday's newspaper and hands it to you. Breakfast, for about 25 cents. Don't look at the place too closely; the food is hot and that should kill most of the germs....
Fresh Mahi Mahi (Buzz's in Kailua, Dukes in Waikiki)
Decent Mai Tais (Hawaii)
Conch Fritters (KW and the Islands)
Carry on as you know they would want you to do. ~~JB, dedication to Tim Russert
