You bet internet radio is worth fighting for! If anyone here hasn't ever been to Live365.com - just for one major example - go there now and check out what all they have to offer - I've been listening to them for years. Literally thousands of stations, offering everything imaginable. If after seeing that, you don't think it's worth saving, you weren't paying attention.

By the way, they were silent today too.

Let's get the word out!

For additional information on what Live365 and other internet broadcasters - along with some of our representatives in government - are doing to help keep it all from going silent forever, see these links:

it did come back on, and lots of us listened to the concert tonight.

seems to me if they really wanted to show how important internet radio is, the concert would not have been available. I am glad they did not feel that way, though.

Here is the response I got from my Senator...

The Internet Radio Equality Act of 2007, introduced by Senator Ron Wyden, would address this issue by essentially reversing the decision of the Copyright Royalty Board with respect to webcasting. This legislation has been referred to the Senate Judiciary Committee, of which I am not a member. Please be assured that should this bill come before the full Senate, I will have your views in mind.

Kind of on the fence don't you think?

My senator responded as well:
"Thank you for taking the time to contact my office with your concerns about S. 1353, the Internet Radio Equality Act of 2007. Your input is important to me, and I appreciate the time you took to share your thoughts.
As you know, decisions regarding music royalty rates are determined by three judges appointed to the Copyright Royalty Board. S. 1353 would nullify the determinations of the Copyright Royalty Judges with respect to webcasting. Currently S. 1353 is being reviewed in the Senate Committee on the Judiciary. Should this bill come before the full Senate, I will certainly take your concerns into consideration.
Thank you again for your letter. I hope you will continue to share your thoughts with me over the next six years.

Sincerely,

Bob Corker

United States Senator"

Based on what I read it seems that other than the introduction, they're using the SAME letter
