Sail on Seth

As adults, we sometimes forget that we can learn from the young people around us. I had a young hero, who recently passed away. His name was Seth Cook and he died a few hours short of his 14th birthday.

Seth was on several television news shows and a regular on The Maury Show. He had progeria, a rare premature-aging disease that is terminal.

This child, lived his life knowing he was going to die. Despite this he did live life to the fullest with a wisdom of an old soul and a heart as big as they come. He went to "regular" school, played in the marching band, shot pool. He was a remarkable kid and my hero and I'll miss seeing him.

Up here in the Pacific Northwest we watched him grow up. Besides the national tv exposure he had recieved he was also featured on many local programs almost from the day he was diagnosed. I was deeply saddened to learn of his passing. Heaven is even brighter now.
