That show at Merriweather in 2003 was the first show I brought my future wife to and she has been hooked ever since and my favorite show period. the set list was great and there was no "Brown Eyed Girl." I hope Jimmy plays Merriweather again someday and although it looks doubtful that concert was quite a send off. I used to have a copy of the concert and Jimmy says in the pre-interview that he remembers the lawn (outfits, parrotheads, etc.) being started at Merriweather. Great times indeed.

COAST OF MARSEILLE with Fingers Taylor playing harmonica. I just had to type it one more time. Just seeing it in print looks good. Hope I can find this download.

yeah but our money is just as green as yours... and sorry to say the green pays for the ticket. And when you have a ticket in had, it gives you the privilage--no the RIGHT to complain about whatever you want.
True, but those who disagree with you such as YNO and Michelle also have the right to disagree with you.

You are so right. What we thought was "greener" was just the reflection off our margaritas. Use your "green" to pay for another f***ing ticket. We ain't complainin' about the product. Isn't Yanni touring? How about John Tesh. OOh, ooh, I know, I hear the American Idols tour is real easy to get tickets to and the traffic in and out isn't quite as bad. You want the privilege, nay, the RIGHT to complain? The loudest protest you can lodge is by never, EVER, buying another Jimmy Buffett ticket, EVER AGAIN. And I, as a loyal listener support you in your protest. Do not ever, no matter how strong the urge is, whatever you do, never, EVER, buy another concert ticket to a Jimmy Buffett concert. Ever again. You and I will both be happier.

I know Jimmy is God but I don't think there's anything wrong with a little complaining or venting every now and then about a bad experience or whatever. It does not make you less of a fan.
How many times have we had people whining recently about how good or how bad Landshark Lager is? myself included

Us 4 guys played golf in the morning, while the girls got all the food, coolers, and stuff ready for the tailgate at Nissan. We came home around noon, showered, and left around 2:00 from Annapolis. This trip usually takes a little over one hour to Nissan.

Well, it took us 3 hours to get there. Backed up traffic, accidents everywhere, etc. By the time we got in, parked, got set up, we had less than 2 hours to tailgate. The weather was crappy, then it started raining hard on the way in.

Ok, so at least we had the show to look forward too. But for some reason, I feel a bit empty. Like I didn't get my money's worth. It seemed to go by way to fast. Probably b/c he didn't take a break during the show.

I was also p*** b/c his "on the road again" song by Willie sucked. He forgot half the words and the band sounded awful. Actually he sounded lame and of beat for about the first 3 songs. Then I have to listen too that Elvis song which I hate. I just don't know why he doesn't play what his best stuff. Why have that Elvis song, and a few others that are terrible?

Anyway, just venting b/c we all felt like we didn't enjoy the show. I have been going for 15 years, and this was not one I will mark as one of the best for sure. Anyone else go to Nissan who feels the same? At least I have Vegas in October.
I just got back from Jimmy Buffett where I was almost arrested for 'assaulting a police officer' after kicking a beach ball that accidentally smacked him right in the back of his head. They jumped me and pinned me to the ground, after confiscating my umbrella and the beach ball (weapons) and I tried to explain it was 'just a beach ball' and 'I wasn't aiming for anyone' and apologizing profusely, but the officer was very adamant about dragging me to the security exit, where they process ejections. He said 'You're lucky we aren't arresting you because technically that was assaulting a police officer with a deadly weapon'.

They asked me, during an extremely heavy downpour, what I had done and they could not believe I could have assaulted anyone with a beach ball. They kept asking me if I was drunk, which I wasn't and finally asked the Captain in charge what to do. After hushed whispers they finally asked for my ID and Social Security number and tried to get me to sign a paper saying that I was 'Drunk In Public', but I refused because I hadn't had anything to drink. I asked if this was their first 'Assault with a Deadly Beach Ball' tonight and they said it was their 'first ever' and that they actually were not allowed to eject anyone for that.

They finally called the arresting officer, Yung, and he explained that he was smacked hard in the back of the head with the beach ball and when he turned around a large group of people were laughing at him and that I apologized, so he assumed that I had tried to intentionally 'do him bodily harm'. They had a talk with him (it was his first week on the job and then decided to let me go. I had forgotten my Driver's License, so went back to get it and the officer said 'Now, I know you are not drunk!' I missed about an hour of the show ('Bama Breeze' was playing when I finally got to my seat), but had a pretty good time, got drunk on two 16 ounce beers and got lost on the way home. Typical full moon with five planets retrograde.

Making a comment on whether or not you like a food or beverage is one thing...

Making nasty, rude, unnecessary comments about Jimmy's choice of a setlist that wasn't perfect in your eyes and his memory, etc. is another.

Was my mother the only one who taught me, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."?

what a pinhead (not you, the officer claiming it was an assault with a deadly weapon.) Good for you in not signing the statement, you avoided giving them the ability to pin full responsibility for the incident on you rather than where it belongs... on the shoulders of a wannabee with a badge, a gun, and a case of little man's syndrome. (not refering to his height or making an ethnic slur, I am refering to his willingness to push it that far because some people laughed at him). Hopefully he doesn't last long on the job, and ends up working Mall Security where his whistle and walkie-talkie can't do much damage.

Typical full moon with five planets retrograde.
what a pinhead (not you, the officer claiming it was an assault with a deadly weapon.) Good for you in not signing the statement, you avoided giving them the ability to pin full responsibility for the incident on you rather than where it belongs... on the shoulders of a wannabee with a badge, a gun, and a case of little man's syndrome. (not refering to his height or making an ethnic slur, I am refering to his willingness to push it that far because some people laughed at him). Hopefully he doesn't last long on the job, and ends up working Mall Security where his whistle and walkie-talkie can't do much damage.
How did you know he was short?
let me also take a stab: buzz cut hair, mirror shades, and during your contact with you, really in your space?
You're pretty good at this sort of thing, Ringling!! Should we be worried?! :D :D
at least you didn't ask him if he was compensating for being plumbed like a pre-pubescent chipmunk...

OMG! It's like you were there! Or totally psychic! He was about 5'6", did have a buzz cut, no shades due to rain and he put his hand on his gun right as he turned around and started to run towards me with his partner.

As I apologized and started screaming 'It was just a beach ball!', they both threw me to the ground, pinned my arms behind my back and cuffed me. They took my Ralph Lauren Polo umbrella and then callously tossed the lethal beach ball BACK into the crowd risking serious injury and even possible fatalities! It was a nightmare!

there is another path.. most citys have a Ombudsman (or equal)
if you really wanna push it.. they probably broke a law or three
in throwing the "weapon" into the crowd..
something about not preserving the chain of evidence also could come into light.. IF it were a "Real" weapon would they have done that?

also in some venues.. the officers (some of them) are filling in as security
and as they are on OT they aren't able to claim the whole
"Police officer" thing at all..

just a few thoughts
there
are other ways to get this into light..
but they would cost a $$ or two.. 8)
