Jimmy played the song 'Everlasting Moon'....
I put in the Ballads cd from the box set earlier tonight and forgot how good this song was as a live recording...
Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that the parrothead handbook states Jimmy played this in the late 80's or even early 90's?

any if any of you were at one of the shows when he played it, what was it like?

Although the song list here at BN and the Parrothead Handbook don't list it, I'd swear I heard that song at Great Woods, now the Tweeter Center in Mansfield, MA, I just can't remember what year it was. I vividly remember a crescent moon image on the backdrop and wondering to myself, possibly out loud, 'what the hell is this?'. It wasn't a bad song, it's actually a nice song, just a very mellow sudden change in the concert tempo and a major hush fell over the entire crowd like I had never experienced before.

The setlist archive says it was only played twice in 1990. That was before I started traveling to shows and neither of the two were in NY so I guess I haven't heard it live.

The Ballads recording is from Cincy, right?

I was there when he played it. This recording is from the Cincinnati show when the Feeding Frenzy album was made. The only other place he ever played it was in Atlanta, the same year. At least at that time. The tour was for Off To See The Lizard. He may have played it since, not really sure.

I have to say, "Everlasting Moon" has been one of the only songs on BBBB that I've always skipped.
