That being said, I think having solid O-Lines and D-Lines as a unit is even more valuable. Look at all the Broncos teams of the past ten years that have had several 1000 yard rushers. Given guys like Brady, LDT, Manning, Farve, Moss etc. are special players that you'd be hard pressed to pass up, but if you don't have that look to the lines.
I thought he was talking about game breakers...guys when you get the ball in there hand can do something with it...QB position excluded!!!......i'm not debating offensive line....any QB is as good as his line.....and i already said i'd rather start with a
dominant defense!!!...and i believe now a days a great lock down corner is the most important position due to all the pass happy offenses and especially in the AFC east with the Patriots

yes i don't disagree.....but i think finding a lock down corner is a lot harder to find..and if he's out there you start there...but yes a pass rush and a great LB especially one that can cover is a key!!!...and it does take the pressure off the corners and the safeties if you can put pressure on the QB!!....I was referring originally from Ravi saying McNab didn't have anyone to throw to....and i said he has Westbrook who can line up in different positions and is a threat...just get him the ball!!!
And unlike other running backs who put up big numbers (Willie Parker) or others who should but don't (Reggie Bush) the thing that makes Westbrook standout is that he blocks for his QB!
The reason why I didn't mention any defenders was that I thought that was a given. You do need a good defense and a good line (on both sides) to win games.

A given? You should be an NFL coach Obvious . . . 2/3's of the NFL's Head Coaches don't understand that . . . look at Detroit? Which WR will they Draft this year . . .

I think I read somewhere on one of the sports pages that coaches can't say that defenses will win championships because the owners will think that that person doesn't want to score. PLUS, it's more the glitz these days anyway. Everyone wants to be on SportsCenter.

Not sure if Ireland did or didn't make the decision. Cameron's days were numbered when the old GM was fired.

What are the chances Parcells hires a retread coach (Jim Fassel??)? My bet is he goes with a young coordinator. Some are saying BC's head coach Jeff Jagoniski could be a strong canidate. I just don't see Parcells hiring a guy like Jagoniski.

the Bears twice (and both times they lost in the championship games)
the 1972 Dolphins
and this year's Patriots.

You are correct.
I know the Bears did it in the 1930's (I think 1932 but not sure), and in 1942.

It was 1934 and 1942.
I knew the years, I just didn't know if there were any other teams besides those four.
BTW-the 1940 Bears won the N.F.L. championship game against Washington 73-0, but they had a couple of losses during the regular season.
(NO, I wasn't working in the concession stands during that game).
