I will start my year long arrogance now . . . Pats got to the AFC Championship and were 1 score away from another Super Bowl. They went out and go Pro Bowl Defense men and people for Brady to throw the ball to - in order of significance:

1. Stallworth
2. Welker
3. Moss . . .

I love Moss for the deep threat but the other two will earn their catches!
Remember this,

Patriots were also ONE play away from being ONE and DONE last year.
If Chargers' Marlon McCree kneels on his INT in the dying minutes,
SD goes onward with home field advantage

One mental lapse was the difference. :-?

Can't wait for the NE v. SD rematch in Week 2 8) :P
We embarrassed Pats and ended their homefield win streak last time we visited
The Chargers were suppose to be the most dominate team in the NFL last season. Hosting a playoff game after a bye week and playing a team who had to fly 3,000+ miles who did not have a bye and were also playing without several key starters that game should not have come down to a brain lapse by a Chargers DB making the difference between victory and defeat.
The Chargers were a soft overrated team who got punched in the face and the only reaction they could muster was whining that the other team danced on their logo

"Lights Out"
Bolts weren't picked by many to finish where they did in AFC West last year.
LT certainly carried them when the other aspects, QB or defense, may have been stumbling.
I don't fault him for a second for reacting emotionally and calling out the Pats
when he could have pointed his criticism back at teammates.

As for Patriots dancing around like they'd never won a big game before...
We EMBARRASED Pats and ended their homefield win streak last time we visited
But the Chargers folded when it mattered the most.... in the playoffs. but then again, that was one game better than the Redskins did last year.

Sort of funny Fantasy Football story:

Last year one of the guys in my league drafted Vick and based on our keeper rules he can keep Vick in the 7th round of this years draft - he claimed last year that he was "keeper Vick no matter WHAT!" During the trade deadline he said, "No one can have Vick . . . I will drink a 30 pack of Pabst with Mr. Boston Run chasers before I drop Vick because he is so valuable as a 7th round keeper."

SO . . . should we hold him to this or no! This guy is a two beer queer and I would love to see him passed out on the lawn after he ponies up to his claim!
the hit and run is as good as any religion around this time of year . . .

Given how quickly the wheels of justice don't usually turn he'll probably play this year, how well with this hanging over his head remains to be seen. In 2008 however, if he happens to be found guilty of something by then, he won't be worth s h i t in a handbag

His arraignment is the same day they open training camp. If he has any class   he'll do what he should have from the outset: Step up and take responsibility. Then, we should wait to watch the pigs fly.

NFL, Falcons could ask Vick to focus energies in court

ATLANTA -- In what has quickly evolved into a collaborative effort that includes input of officials from the NFL, NFL Players Association and Atlanta Falcons, embattled quarterback Michael Vick could be urged to take a voluntary leave of absence to focus his energy on the legal challenges from a federal dogfighting indictment confronting him, sources said.

There are, however, two critical components that must be resolved: Falcons owner Arthur Blank must be on board with a plan that has generated considerable discussion at the league level the past two days. And Vick, who might be reluctant to accept even a paid hiatus from the game, might have to be convinced that the leave could be his best option.

I had vick last year on my fantasy team. He was pretty good for me considering the point system my league has. But his inconsistancies where tought to deal with on the week to week basis.

I held the number one seed all season, and vick is why I lost my campionship playoff game.

I didn't tell the guys I was a girl all season, and I made the mistake of doing it before the game... so than they were all like hahaha girl can't win in the end. I was so bummed, I wanted to rub all their faces in it! [smilie=battingeyes.gif] :D

He will play this year. Didn't atlanta peace out their backup anyways?

I think the jury is still out on if Vick sees a snap this season or not. I don't see the NFL lifting their suspension (or ban if that's what they want to call it) until after the trial.

Say the trial is over by the midpoint of the season, he will be 12+ weeks behind the rest of the team in terms of practice and conditioning. With a new coach and a new system to learn, that is huge.

Say the suspension is lifted as of week 8. It may take 2 to 3 weeks in practice for Vick to get in shape and get comfortable in the new system. So that means he either sits out until week 10 or 11 and gets a good handle on things, or he goes out there in week 8 or 9 and looks like an idiot because he doesn't know what he's doing.

The Falcons traded Matt Schaub to Houston, but signed Joey Harrington. They have also have DJ Shockley, a raw but supposedly talented qb from UGA. I was never impressed with Shockley from what I saw of him in the SEC, but he may be able to grasp the Petrino style if Harrington can't. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that Atlanta drafts Brohm from Louisville this spring.

2 problems with that:
1) When the trial is over, there is a good chance he will be in jail.
2) Even with practice time, he is a good athelete, but will always look like an idiot at QB because he doesnt know what he is doing.

Good points, especially the second one.

I was just giving best case scenario for him getting back on the field this year. Which I guess in all honesty is best case for him or for fantasy teams with him on it, not really best case for the Falcons.

Want to know why I hate Joe Buck? We all know the man lies to hype whatever game he is announcing but last night during the Colts/ Cowboys he actually praised the work Parcells did for the Cowboys franchise stating "although the Cowboys never even won a playoff game under Parcells people are now talking about them as a Super Bowl contender because of the work and players Parcells brought to Dallas . . ."

HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone think the Cowboys are a "Super Bowl contender" . . .

Dullas Cryboys 6-10 at best this year. It will take some really wierd scenarios for them to sneak into the playoffs with that record.

True. The problem is the NFC East doesn't seem to have a standout team. The offenses are all questionable (especially my Redskins). They are either missing key components from last year (Giants), new coaching (Cowboys), coming back from injuries (Eagles) or just plain unknowns (Redskins). I feel like that about the defenses too. I think a 10-6 could win the division. I guess we will see.
Twenty degrees and the hockey games on...
