Well, there is no joy in Wolverine Land. Once again the hated rivals to the south have ruined a Saturday afternoon for me here in the Great Lake State.
And the kicker was, Friday night I was given a pair of
freebies to the game from a friend who couldn't make the game. So with cautious anticipation we wandered into the stadium and plopped down into some awesome seats on the 40 yard line (well, we didn't really plop down, we stood the whole game)! But alas, there was not much to cheer about on that cold rainy day. Not gonna evaluate the game, it was what it was, a 14-3 snoozer/downer!
I close by saying, c-grats to the Luckeyes.....err...BUCKEYES

and thanks Coach Carr for 13 interesting seasons of Michigan Football!
P.S. BCS title game matchup prediction.........West Virginia vs. Ohio State.

No don't get me wrong, I hate it when MY teams lose too, but do people HONESTLY get upset to the point of crying just because their team loses a GAME?
Hell, if you're going to CRY, cry for a good reason-like no beer in the house, or HOOTERS being closed, but don't cry over a silly-a$$ game.
After all, it IS just a game.
I used to cry when I was a small child when Tennessee lost. I didn't get over that until about age 10. Its called passion....being a true fan. Loving the game so much but being to young to understand its just a game. Have a heart, people!
now that's devotion or insanity

Could be worse, she could have been throwing cups and bottles like they do in Tuscaloosa or Oxford.

I'll evaluate the game:
Wells, OSU’s 6-1, 235-pound bruising tailback, rumbled 39 times for 222 yards and two touchdowns. The yardage total is the most for any OSU back against Michigan and eclipsed his own career best of 221 set in OSU’s win over Michigan State.
* The Buckeyes held Michigan to three points Saturday, marking the lowest point total allowed against Michigan since Ohio State shut out the Wolverines, 28-0, in 1962.
* The Buckeyes held Michigan to 91 yards in total offense Saturday, marking the first time the Wolverines did not reach 100 yards in total offense since they gained just 97 yards against Purdue Oct. 20, 1962.
* OSU notched its fourth straight win over Michigan. That has only happened twice before for OSU – in 1934-37 and 1960-63.
* The Buckeyes pulled off back-to-back wins in the Big House for the first time since 1979-81.
* Ohio State improved to 29-9 against ranked teams under Tressel, including 4-0 this year.
Michigan seniors will leave UM with an 0-4 record against OSU. Hart, Henne and tackle Jake Long all made it a point in the off-season to say they wanted to come back to Michigan to win the national title and beat Ohio State.
After last years game against OSU, Hart said he was sure Michigan would beat OSU if they were to rematch and claimed Ohio State’s defense was “not so special.” He jumped toward several OSU players and had to be restrained when the two teams met at midfield prior to Saturday’s rematch. He blocked an OSU CB, stood over him taunting, then shoved him down early in the game. He was running his mouth constantly at the OSU defense.
Hart ended up with 44 yards on 18 carries. Too bad Hart couldn't run the ball as well as he ran his mouth! UM had 91 yards in total offense. Looking at the stats, the OSU defense was "special" on November 17, 2007.
OSU fans are sad to see Lloyd Carr go, just as UM fans were sad to see John Cooper go.
Note: The only way I want OSU in the NC game is if they will play LSU.
If not, the Rose Bowl has and always will be the Grand Daddy of them all.

Hate to point this out Outlaw but most of your items had NO BEARING on Saturday's game!! Otherwise, I would have made a dumb evaluation regarding the game that would have mentioned Michigan is 57-41-6 against Ohio State, Michigan's 11 national championships to OSU's 7, Michigan having a winning pct. of 74.5% to OSU's 71.5% and blah blah blah....Nothing to do with Sat's game.
But just to make you happy, here's a real evaluation of the game.
Buckeye "D" line dominated the line of scrimmage giving no holes for Mike Hart to run through and continually pressured QB Chad Henne. When Henne did have time to throw, his throws lacked accuracy and when the accuracy was there Michigan receivers consistantly dropped passes.
Buckeye's offense capitalized on great field position starting at the "M" 40 yard line and punched in a 2nd quarter TD to give them a 7-3 halftime lead. OSU RB Beanie Wells broke off a 62 yard TD yard early in the 3rd qtr. to give a OSU a huge TD. Other than that play the Michigan defense did an outstanding job of holding down the OSU offense but the with no help from the Michigan offense could not muster a late challenge.
My 2 cents also includes that Henne should have been replaced in the 2nd half by Freshman QB Ryan Mallet as it was obvious that Henne had neither the accuracy (due to bad shoulder) or the mobility (due to bad knee) to make the big play Michigan needed. Not saying "M" would have won if he was healthy or if Mallett would have entered the game, just pointing out that Henne's injuries made it tough for him to make the plays necessary to put points on the board and Carr's committment to the Senior QB didn't allow Mallet the opportunity to make plays of his own.
Again, C-Grats on the win Outlaw & Peace!!!

This was tight up until the 4th quarter from what I saw. Was focused on the LSU-Ark game, and hating that outcome.

In 2003 people were complaining about Oklahoma playing in the BCS title game after losing to K-State in the Big XII championship game. What will they say if Georgia ends up playing in the title game without even being going to the SEC title game?
That is a very possible scenario. Teams above UGA in the BCS rankings coming into this week: ASU - lost to USC Thursday; OSU - done until the bowls; Mizzou - could lose either today or win today and lose next week in the Big XII title game; West Virginia - could lose to either UConn and Pitt; Kansas - same scenario as Mizzou; LSU - lost to Ark.

it would be funny if that happened and they won unlike Nebraska and Oklahoma. I guess that would be a good thing though. The Buckeyes seem to be sitting pretty right now so my money's on them to be one of the teams. It'd be nice to see Kansas lose too so it can be all screwed up.

A&M had them down by 21 going into the 4th.....or something close to that. I kept switching between that and the LSU game.... so some stats might run together from yesterday.

I thought it was closer, but the scores were running together for me too

That one was fun to watch too. My Dad's from Nebraska so I was sort of hoping they could do SOMETHING to ease their painful season.

No surprise there. He's been fired for weeks.
