I have a free Insight Bowl student ticket (thank you, IU Athletic Dept!) waiting on my arrival at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe for my INDIANA HOOSIERS vs. some cowboys in ok state on Dec. 31.
Now if the flights weren't $450+ plus Indy! Ugh!
I guess the NFL Network will have to do.
Go Hoosiers!

Has anybody heard from Melli? Do we need to call her?
I've never seen a coach as distraught as Rich Rodriguez was after the game. Give credit to Pitt, they overcame some very questionable calls after that game.
Georgia v. Hawaii, other than the championship, that's one game I'll be watching.
OK v. West Virginia should be a good one, too.
I like LSU big time, I don't think you get any better by playing Youngstown State, Akron, Kent and a Big 10 schedule.

I just don't get it.....the Dawgs got screwed. Although back in Sept, I would have never dreamed that we were that close to the title game.12vmanRick wrote:I hate the BCS

Coach Richt is calling for another "Black out" in the dome. I just hope we don't think this game is in the bag and we show up to play and don't get embarrassed like the UT or WV game.

My thought on UGA (can't recall if I said this in here already or not, apologize if I did):
It isn't unprecedented in the regular season for a team to win a big game on a Saturday and jump over a team that was idle on that same Saturday. It really looks like that is what happened this past weekend - it just turned out to be the last week of the season. My arguement would be that a conference championship game is a "big" game, so winning it would draw a few more votes in the human polls than an idle team.
OSU got in after an idle week because they were the only major one loss team. If OSU had two losses as well and were idle they would have been jumped as well and probably would have set up an Oklahoma/LSU title game.
If 2004 was the perfect storm of having three undefeated BCS conference teams, 2007 is the perfect storm is having no undefeated, and only one one loss, BCS conference teams.

The Dawgs DID NOT get screwed. They did not make the SEC championship game. They did not win the SEC. Thus, a team with comparable record that DID win the SEC deserves to be higher in the pecking order for the Championship game.BahamaBreeze wrote:I just don't get it.....the Dawgs got screwed. Now, what WOULD have made this interesting and my argument b.s. would have been if Georgia would have played and BEAT LSU in the regular season but still been in the same boat in the SEC East and lost out because of a tie-breaker. In that case, I still think the BCS would have plugged in Oklahoma over Georgia because Okie WAS a conference champ.

But it doesn't say you have to win or even play in your conference game.Dr.Corona wrote:The Dawgs DID NOT get screwed. They did not make the SEC championship game. They did not win the SEC. And how do go from #4 and have 3 teams jump you and end up at #5? Yet OHS who did not play, was #3 and moved to #1...I guess I don't understand.
In 2003 OK got CRUSHED in their title game and still played for the national title. (Not that UGA should be playing in the NC). I think it is all politics.
Actually I wish we would have gone to the Rose bowl and played USC, but we are locked to Sugar.
