To the Clemson fans on the board, your team played a great game last night. I think if there had been a few more completed passes it wouldn't have even been close.
I must say that Auburn running a no huddle spread is an interesting sight, especially watching it live and seeing the calls come in from the sideline. I just wish that Tuberville/Franklin/et al would have lined up and run the ball with some power a few times earlier in the game, maybe there wouldn't have been a need for OT.

Wow! Great game by my Bulldogs! Thank you Boise State fans who adopted us for the game...at least that's how it looked on TV! Nice job of coming back there at the end GT!

God, I hate to say this...but watch out for us next season!!
Awesome job by Michigan in LC's last game. They looked completely different from the team that face App. St., Oregon, and Ohio State.
Go Illinois!, Go Hawaii!!

You could do no better...he is arguably the best coach around. Pete is the real deal.
I'm proud of my boys. In spite of some truly lame ass "officiating" from the Big East

they played like the game meant something. It would have been easy for them to not care, given the match up. Still wish it had been the Bulldogs they were playing though.

This isn't a good day for the big ten.
The Rose Bowl looked like the New England Patriots playing some sand lot team from Clapham Junction.
Hawaii isn't looking much better in the Sugar Bowl either.

Trying to find the magazine story from Los Angeles Magazine where Pete traves into gangland to talk to youngsters about going back to school, getting jobs and making the most of their lives. Also, I saw an interview once where he was asked, "...what's your most valued posession?" and he imedately answered, "My fly rod!" What's not to like about that?

Whaddya mean not a good day for the Big Ten!!!???

Michigan looked verrry impressive in Orlando by taking it to a good Florida team. If it wasn't for 2 big turnovers by Hart at the goal line Michigan would have had a more comfortable win.
And what the h*ll did you expect from the Illini. I understand they took out OSU & played Michigan tough this year, but they didn't matchup well with USC. You have to be a balanced team to play USC and "Juice" Williams just wasn't a good enough passer. The Illini defense hung in early but the offense just killed them by not being able to put any drives together early. And with all that the Illini had a shot at making it 21-17 midway in the 3rd if they don't fumble inside the 10. Not saying Illini would have went on and pulled the upset but they could've hung in longer.
Wisconsin had a shot against Tennessee but I believe Coach Bielema was the goat in that one. Had a 4th & a yard and a half at the Vol 10 with 5+ minutes to go down 4. Just kick the field goal & get within 1......or my call was to go up to the line and TRY to draw the D offsides. If it doesn't work, it's still only a 32 yard field goal try.
Hawaii..........yeah, wasn't expecting much with them either. I saw a couple games they played this year (the last game against Washington included) and they looked verrry vulnerable.
P.S. It ticks me off that at 1:00 you've got 4 different games going on but from the time the Rose Bowl starts you're stuck watching the Rose Bowl then the Sugar Bowl with no other options!!

I"m not a Michigan or a Florida fan, but that was probably the best
bowl game you'll see this year.

1 game out of three for the big 10. I call that NOT VERY GOOD.
But I'm glad Michigan won. It takes more than luck to beat a team like Florida. If they had any other opponent in that game, I think Florida wouldn've cleaned their clocks. They were actually in it in THIS game 'til almost the very end.
And what the h*ll did you expect from the Illini.
Illinois gave me what I expected. Like the Florida game, the big 10 guys were playing in front of a mostly hostile crowd, but, more than that, they were just no match for U.S.C. It was as if they KNEW they didn't belong there. But I think they're a much better team than what they showed yesterday.
Wisconsin had a shot against Tennessee
This is the game that probably had the most bad karma going against the "good guys" (big 10) than any other. There's always at least ONE game in which this is the case. Unfortunately for Wisconsin, it was in their BIG game. Their coach won't live this one down for quite a while.
Hawaii..........yeah, wasn't expecting much with them either. I saw a couple games they played this year (the last game against Washington included) and they looked verrry vulnerable.
They looked pretty good in the REGULAR SEASON, but they didn't play Georgia in the regular season. They looked like my nephew's intramural junior high team.
P.S. It ticks me off that at 1:00 you've got 4 different games going on but from the time the Rose Bowl starts you're stuck watching the Rose Bowl then the Sugar Bowl with no other options!!

I always hated that too, but I guess that's why I have four TV sets.

Just a little follow up to those who think that NCAA Football should be divided up into two parts:
1. The SEC
2. Everyone else
This is how they have fared in bowl games:
GEORGIA....ran over a mid-major school.
TENNESSEE....won, but barely against BIG TEN 4th place school
FLORIDA.....lost to BIG TEN third place school
KENTUCKY....won, but barely against a team with 30 suspended players
ALABAMA...won, but barely against BIG 12 NORTH 3rd place school
MISSISSIPPI STATE....won, but barely, against a mid-major school
ARKANSAS.....got their butts handed to them by a BIG 12 school
AUBURN....won, but barely, against 2nd place team from ACC COASTAL
LSU...plays tonight.
SO they are 6-2, but only really had 1 convincing win. They also have one very convincing LOSS. This is not the trait of a DOMINANT conference. Merely a good one. They could easily be 1-7 right now.

Cappy.........I see you trying to make your point going anti-SEC but you took the wrong approach. I'm a Big 10 guy, but the SEC top to bottom does have the edge over other conferences. Now, as you pointed out, the Bowl wins, while not overly impressive, were indeed BOWL WINS! You can't really nit-pick that many wins by the conference. The Auburn game, the MSU game, the Bama game, & the Vols game were close to toss-ups but the SEC did prevail and you can't argue with that.
You are CORRECT in assessing that the SEC is not the end-all-be-all, but for the time being you DO have to bow down to the conference as a whole on the gridiron.
