If you want, afterwards we can go to Ford Island. If you saw the movie "TORA TORA TORA," that was where nearly all the action took place. All the buildings are still there, although most are now abandoned.
Still-you'll see plenty of history there, including the U.S.S. Arizona and U.S.S. Missouri.
OMG that is so cool! That's one of my dad's favorite movies!

and he is a Navy man so i MUST go to the Arizona!

I get there on the 2nd and fly home on the 9th, so pick any of those dates and we'll go. (Except for the 4th, of course).

I'm glad too. And I'm glad YOU'RE going.
We'll talk when we get there. In the meantime, get yourself pumped for the Diamond Head & Pearl Harbor/Ford Island tours.

Janice is a fantastic lady-beautiful, smart, and a joy to be around. (And great for my ego-

) All I can say about her is if things in my life were different, things WOULD be different.
If you're a friend of hers, you're definately a friend of mine.
We'll have a great time hanging out together on Oahu, but I HAVE to have one afternoon to show my friend from Nashville around.
Have you decided where you'll be staying yet?

I'm not sure where the Resort Quest Beachfront is, but if it's in the Waikiki area, it'll be easy to find.
And, of course, you'll be within walking distance to the Shell.

I do have a "guest" flying in from Nashville for the concert, and I did promise him I'd give him a tour of the island one day while we're there.
Should I count you in for the luau and will there be 1 or 2 for that?

Let me talk to my hosts first and see what they have planned.
There could be as many as 4 or 5 of us attending. I'll only be there a week and there are a few very close friends who I'll HAVE to visit while I'm there. Two of them (and one of their sons) are coming to the concert with me. Sorry I can't be more definate, but I will get back to you on this one.

I will be staying on the leeward side so I'm within a golf cart ride to the Cove. I'll keep an eye out to see if anything happens. Mahalo.

I'll make it happen if there's enough interest. Are you in?

Yea, I'm in for two if it's at the Cove. Would they change the show any if a parrot head club was in house? I've seen it a couple of times....not that i'm complaining...

I doubt it. Unless we book a private event I would expect the usual show.
I heard back from Germaine's. The group rate there is $58.50 but they'll let us pay individually through a paypal link, which would simplify things for me. Also they don't seem as strict about enforcing the minimum group size. I'm waiting to hear from Paradise Cove about whether they can do something similar or not.
I know jr mint said he liked Paradise Cove better than Germaine's. Others have told me about good experiences at Germaine's.
Does anyone have a STRONG preference of one over the other, or should I just go with the one that will work with me the best?
So far I think we have 15 for the luau. I won't book anything until I know we have 20 for sure;
Fleshandbone & murPH
Flipflopgirl & Jr mint +1
hezgone +1
Karacal +1
Mango-Man +1
Mr Play & Mrs. Play
NorthcoastParrothead +1
Anybody else?
