Re: Location on Oahu
We're not very active in the club, but I know Kelly.hezgone wrote:do you know Kelly B? We have played some guitar together. I was hanging at the LSPH area in Frisco back in April.
We drove by their setup at Frisco a few times with this rig, maybe you saw us?

It was a pleasure and a hell of an evening

I got the contract from Paradise Cove this afternoon. $58.50 per person doesn't include transportation; it's $66.50 with round trip transportation from Waikiki. At $58.50 the total for 20 people would be $1,170. They want 10% down by next Thursday and the remainder by 8/23, though I can probably extend that out a week or two. Everyone would need to send me their money up front and I would cover the cost in one payment.
With Germaine's, $58 includes transportation from Waikiki. They'll set up a paypal site where everyone can pay their way separately, and the deadline for payment will be 9/28.
What say ye?

Words of advice..... Do Diamond head and Pearl Harbor EARLY!!!! in the am. Diamond Head because of heat.. No later than 8:00 start time and Pearl Harbor you need to get there early so as to not have to wait hours (yes hours) to get in to see the ship. (?Arizona). Make sure you take H2O with you on the Diamond Head Climb. It is worth it!!!!!! I'm old and out of shape. did with a yougster. I managed better than she did.flipflopgirl wrote:Wino you know wrote:If you want, afterwards we can go to Ford Island. If you saw the movie "TORA TORA TORA," that was where nearly all the action took place. All the buildings are still there, although most are now abandoned.flipflopgirl wrote:well i can't go there and not go to Diamond Head!
Still-you'll see plenty of history there, including the U.S.S. Arizona and U.S.S. Missouri.
OMG that is so cool! That's one of my dad's favorite movies!and he is a Navy man so i MUST go to the Arizona!

I'll take Germaine's since Ive never been to that one. Plus the pay pal is a great ideal. What day again the 2nd or 3rd?Mr Play wrote:I got the contract from Paradise Cove this afternoon. $58.50 per person doesn't include transportation; it's $66.50 with round trip transportation from Waikiki. Bill, is snail mail an option if no Paypal? Thanks for organizing it ~ I can't wait to meet you and the mrs after all these years! And it seems this could be a memorable occasion for balcony girls to celebrate her 60th birthday in style!!Mr Play wrote:I got the contract from Paradise Cove this afternoon. $58.50 per person doesn't include transportation; it's $66.50 with round trip transportation from Waikiki. The luau will be the day after the concert, Friday 10/5. That allows people flying in the day of the concert to go if they want. If we go with Paradise Cove, everyone can paypal me or send me a check. I'll work out the logistics for whichever one we choose. I want this to be a group decision, so post your preference in the thread if you have one. We also need to decide whether we want the shuttle bus service from Waikiki or not.
Rather than posting the same information over and over again, I'm updating the post in my signature link. I know it's a pain, but check in there periodically for updates. Just don't quote me from there since the information is constantly updated and that could cause confusion. While you're there, read the part about the contact list and send me your info if you haven't already.

Right now we have a tie;
Paradise Cove - 1 (jr mint)
Germaine's - 1 (hezgone)
Does anybody else have a preference either way?
I'm still undecided. There are some awful reviews of Germaine's out there, but for all I know those people could be working for Paradise Cove.

I've been to paradise cove, it's nice. Arrive early and bring cash if you want to drink more than the two tickets that come with the package. You can learn the Hula form an authentic Hula girl!!! I'll change my vote to the Cove.Karacal wrote:Don't really have a preference, will just go with the majority. I can't wait to meet everyone!
