Jimmy Buffett - The Definitive TV Collection
Part 1 - The 70s & 80s

I am attempting to assemble to most complete collection of Jimmy Buffett TV appearances and create a set of DVDs with everything in chronological order. By combining my collection with that of a generous donor, and with a little help here and there, I believe I have a large majority of the appearances.

But it won't be complete without everything that's available. Also, I'd love to upgrade the quality of some items if they are available.

When it is done, I will share this collection by various means (vines/bittorent, etc) so that everyone can enjoy it.

So, I'm asking anyone who has anything that I might be missing or has something in really good quality contact me so we can add it to this compilation. This can be a really cool project, but I need everyone's input.

Because the video files are so large, I'm working on this in phases. Right now, I'm focused on the 70s and 80s and I'm in the process of comparing my sources, encoding, slicing. Here is a list of what I have from the 70s and 80s so far. I will add some notes on the current quality in the near future:

I'd love to see a complete copy of this. I guess it's a wonder this one song even exists considering VHS/Betamax recorders were in their very early stages way back then.

sounds cool, but sounds tough. also im not sure but i would assume there would be some legality issues involved in using the vids/whatever....

As long as it's only traded and no money changes hands there shouldn't be any legal issues. Of course there's always that one jerk out there that will try to sell something on eBay that can ruin it for everybody.

yeah no money will be exchanged where I'm involved. I just want to assemble this and get it out there.

I'd love to help getting this out to people once you have it together. We got out about 50 copies of a bunch of live shows from the 70s and 80s, all on a DVD, in about 10 days.

Send me a PM if there's any way I could help in getting this out. Vines are too slow for me, and with everyone willing to make a few copies of digital material, it goes very fast without a loss in quality.

I'm so excited about the possibility of getting to see some of these appearances I can barely remember or have only heard about here.

I'm no help with the technical end, but would be happy to help in any "clerical / organizational" i.e., mailouts, etc. way possible.

Also, although I don't have it; I wonder if ANYONE out there has a copy of JB's appearance on the ABC soap All My Children from the early '80's. That would be hilarious to include as well!

Yeah I would love to see Jimmy on All My Kids. I've never seen that circulating, but you never know.

Never saw it before and I'm amazed at how serious JB looks throughout
most of it (except little smiles in the "tattoo" part and for the extra guitar
licks in the "flip-flop" part).

And is Utley furry or what??!?
