In a nutshell, BEG and I went to JeepGirl and RedWineMaker's wedding, in Sonoma Valley. They got married in a vineyard... EXQUISITE!!

Anyway, on Friday night, we get a phone call.... PHAW and Happy Shark are on their way.... DRIVING, from Denver.....

We keep tabs, all day Saturday. They hit traffic. It's gonna be close.... We get them a hotel room, and we scope out the route to the vineyard. They come SCREECHING into the hotel parking lot at 4:00, after driving for 22 hours.... They tell us to go ahead without them: the vineyard is about 15 minutes away, and the wedding is at 4:30. No way, we say, we're in this together. GET IN THE DAMNED SHOWER.

So they shower and dress for a wedding in ten mintes flat, while BEG Andretti is idling her truck outside the door. We ZOOM to the vineyard at well over the speed limit.... 8)

The look on Nikki's face when she saw PHAW on the aisle seat? ABSOLUTELY AND UTTERLY PRICELESS!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D
Two things we learned:

You CAN put on nylons when soaking wet (ask Renee).
You CAN make it from Calistoga to the Frank Family Vineyard in under 5 minutes if I'm driving.

Oh yeah, and one more thing...if you take an inflatable palm tree to a wedding people will dance and take pictures with it.
NICE!!!!

That's right.... I had forgotten about that..... :o

But then, I'd also forgotten that Lone Star Palm, the little slut, lost his clothes (a formal Magnum PI shirt, no less) long before the party was over.... :o
Do you remember what Corey said when he saw us inflating the tree in the parking lot outside the winery?

"Oh f**k, it's the palm tree!"   Classic.
ROTFLMAO!!!! Yes!!!

We forgot to mention that Jen was stationed on one street looking for them so they wouldn't miss the turn, and I was on the other...we were all dressed up, their hotel room was wide open and I'm surprised we didn't have the shower running too. It was pure comedy.

'Course, if we'd THOUGHT of it, all we had to do was call the best man or the minister and tell them to stall for ten minutes.... But we arrived with time to spare.... 8)

Probably time to return this thread to its regularly scheduled mayhem, and well past time for me to be asleep....

One side note, thread related..... The bride and the groom didn't settle.... they chose wisely.... 8)

And the rest of us in this little tale are indeed looking back, with extremely fond memories! [smilie=superkewl.gif]

pink. you can get those in .22, .556x39, and 7.62. Rumours of a .50 in neon pink have, so far, proved incorrect. Tho, you can just take a can of Krylon and make your Barrett, truely one of a kind. :D

so if you've got a friend that's continually having relationships with married men and then is devastated when they don't leave their wives you're the type of friend that won't say squat. OK that's the way you are.

As far as me being blinded and jaded by my age - oh you poor thing, bless your heart.
being supportive of when she calls you at 2 am crying is one thing. Pointing out that maybe there might be pattern is one thing. Telling her what to do is quite another.

Things are slightly different now a days. I know this situtaion where he did leave his wife. Actually two situations like that. So what am I supposed to tell my friends? it could never happen to them? Maybe this married guy "settled" (like you feel so many people are these days) and he likes my friend. Either way, if he is divorced and giving it a shot with her, who am I to tell her not to try to? I mean he gave up a lot because he felt it was something worth trying for.

But I should say children are not in the mix. (he did not have any yet)

I just have to say things are different now a days. There are girls who are "settle" for the MRS lifestyle.

I will always be supportive of my firends. Friends are the family you choose. But I am not their mother, it is not my job to tell them what to do or scold them for doing something I wouldn't do.

like I said, years have not jaded me. Casual relationships, casual sex, its amazing to get a guy to stop sleeping around. And unlike the past its out there in the open. So a girl find a guy that just wants to stop for a moment and hangout with them, they want to figure out why. He may not be perfect, but he wants to give her an earnest chance why not go for it?

Jumping from relationship to relationship has its benefits, sometimes you figure out what you don't want from people.

I have the chronic relationship friend. I really do. But there is nothing to say to her. She admits that she needs to be in a relationship. So the only thing left for me to do, is love her for who she is because thats what she does for me.

People don't change. Either love them for who they are and have them in your life (friends, guy friends, or boyfriends and husbands) or be done with them. You cannot teach someone your "mistakes" and sometimes people need their own learning process to figure it out.

So I guess you are the lecturer friend who no one really talks to anymore because you are so disapproving. Thats ok be a friend like that.

I have soooooooo stayed out of this...
People don't change
Change, is the only constant in life. And you will learn that as you get older....It's how you deal with it, that tells what you are made of.....

So I guess you are the lecturer friend who no one really talks to anymore because you are so disapproving. Thats ok be a friend like that.

This time you're really wrong..and just don't know what you are talking about........Connie has been there for me sooooo many times. To listen...to let me b i t c h. To relate when I've screwed up....To be supportive when I've needed it the most, and to help me see some of the things I CAN change when it's needed. She has gone thru her own hell, and a lot of us know about it, as she comes here to get the support....and yet, she can still be there for any, and all, of us...and also laugh. A lot......If you think she is the friend no one really talks to? You are sadly mistaken.

So many of the women on this board, and the guys, all support one another....sure, there may be a lecturer or two....Most of them don't stay long.....but I have never met kinder, more caring people anywhere...
Stick around, and you'll see that....We're more than an internet board here....We're friends, and family.....We've been there when babies were born....when one of ours is sick or needs help....when one of ours is getting married halfway across the country , and people fly in for the wedding....When one throws a party in Florida, and 15 states are represented.....
and I could go on and on....

The people on here...They have gotten me thru so many things...they are inclusive, not exclusive.....

All people have done is state their opinion....that's what we do. It may not always be popular, but it's honest and how we feel.

OK I've stayed out of this so far but I have to say one thing here

How nice that you have friends with such great morals as to even START something with a married man. Guys, if you're so unhappy in a marriage, that's fine, have the guts to make a move and THEN look for someone else. I won't even GO there to tell you the heartache that in many cases will await your friends when they stop being the "new" thing. Yes, sometimes these things work out but history doesn't bode well for "He left his wife for me" type relationships.

And I'm SO sorry that things have deteriorated to the point that it's a big deal now to "get a guy to stop sleeping around" Wow, what a great guy, he stopped sleeping around for ME. I'm so glad I'm not your age anymore, that statement was unbearably sad.

Best of luck to you sweetheart - it's a tough world you're coming of age in.
