Falcon's Michael Vick Indicted
"NFL star Michael Vick was indicted by a federal grand jury Tuesday on charges of sponsoring a dogfighting operation so grisly the losers either died in the pit or sometimes were electrocuted, drowned, hanged or shot."
"......after a pit bull from Bad Newz Kennels lost in a fight, it said Peace consulted with Vick about the losing dog’s condition, then executed it by wetting it with water and electrocuting it."
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19814494/
I'm sure he's got a real slick lawyer that's gona get him off.
In my perfect world, we'd skip the trial, save some taxpayer money, give him at least 2 years in jail, and he would be forced to pay ALL of the money he made in his NFL career (and what he is contracted for) to various Humane Societies across the US. Oh and he would be banned from ever owning any type of animal ever again.

Yeah, because he's guilty until proven innocent.carey24 wrote:In my perfect world, we'd skip the trial...
Remember the Duke lacrosse team? If he's guilty, fine. Let the justice system bear it out. But I'm not jumping to conclusions here. I sold my Jump to Conclusions Mat at a garage sale.

If he is guilty then he deserves jail time if he doesn't take a plea bargain by then before the trial date. But I was more disturbed today when I heard they will actually allow Pacman Jones to participate in mini camps even though he was suspended the whole year. I'm not sure I agree with that considering everything he has done in the past year.

I don't think anything should be done to him until the trial, because this is his first "real" offense. I know he flipped off te fans and there was the water bottle that went from being suspect to nothing at all, but this is the first time he has been indicted on charges. I think that until more comes out, the league should monitor the situation, maybe get him into some type of a counseling situation, but don't suspend him yet. Tank Johnson and PacMan were repeat offenders.
The problem with Vick is he is overwhelmingly arrogant. Fox 5 here in Atlanta aired a clip of an attemted interview with Vick in May and all he would say is that he has fans all over the US and around the world and that they will love him no matter what stories come out about him.
I do wish the Falcons would find a way to get rid of him, because he won't do anything but cast a shadow over the team.

Most likely he is involved. I wonder how many other NFL players are worried that their names will come to the surface.
++ Please note I am not accusing any other player of being involved. There were a couple of other NFL players that were not very outraged when this originally surfaced and even defended Vick. I forget their names but one is a Bronco. It makes me sad that the NFL is having the hoodlum problems that ran a lot of people away from the NBA.

...that would be dogs that survived the mauling, not the ones that lost because those were electrocuted, hung, shot, or thrown against a concrete wall until death...
according to the news from Atlanta this am, that is. they're finding those buried on the estate. Necropsy will show cause of death..
...and from the training equipment that I saw them hauling from the place, I hardly think his relatives were doing this training, fighting, etc. without his knowledge. he's despicable and a liar, too.
He's up to it to his neck in raising, training and fighting dogs..... and with any luck, they'll keep digging until they've uncovered each and everyone that has participated ....
2 years? more like 7 yrs...and no he would not be allowed to ever own another animal and he'll be convicted felon.
the NFL allows felons to play professional football?

When it goes from full to crescent...I move in and out of tune...Everlasting Moon....

I told my friends the same thing at the bar last night. Good point.SharkOnLand wrote:Yeah, because he's guilty until proven innocent.carey24 wrote:In my perfect world, we'd skip the trial...![]()

There are two major differences, however . . .Duke case was based on the word of a cracked out hooker who had already established a pattern of behavior by falsely accusing people of rape before . . .
The Vick case is based on trained FBI agents and there months of data collection with viable witnesses.
I think Vick is going to lose . . . but he deserves a trial before people pass judgement.
the hit and run is as good as any religion around this time of year . . .
Not at all. This, while seemly babrbaric, is totally appropriate to the crime. If he is ofund guilty then he should have to face the consequences of his crimes. These crimes are that he abused dogs, had dogs trained to fight and kill other animals for pleasure. So let the punishment fit the crime. Have him fight his dogs.drunkpirate66 wrote:insane much?green1 wrote:If he is found guilty let's put him in the pit with the dogs and let them take care of him.

Well I was allowing for the fact that there was no trial and we all just assumed he is guilty (which I believe he is).Moonie wrote:green1 wrote:If he is found guilty let's put him in the pit with the dogs and let them take care of him.

Yeah, there is that. Even if he is found guilty I would be really surprised if he faced jail time.
