Mine is being delivered tomorrow. I'll have to wrestle my 16 yr old daughter for it from the FedEx guy. :D

It's going to take a lot of willpower not to open up to the last 10 pages first! 8)

No lines for me, there are crazy people out after midnite! :o  If I time it right the Fed Ex guy can just pitch it in my basket as I ride by him. No staying up all nite reading for me, I tried riding one morning after no sleep the night before and damb near killed myself. never again.

A few years ago I got one of the books early, can't remember if it was Wed or Thurs before the release. My little independent bookseller called to tell me he had gotten them in early and it was there waiting for me. He took a lot of heat for it, so not sure he ever did that again.

I will personally kick the ass of the person who spills the ending, so after you're done reading, zip it!

Of course you do.

Why wouldn't YOU of all people, be privileged enough to have an advance copy?

If you saw on the news--- Deepdiscount.com sent out a fraction of a perctage of the books--when they were not suppose to---- I was lucky enough to be one of those persons. But the book is not for me---- my father loves them, so I got it for him.

I rather wait for the movies--- you get the whole store in 2 and a half hours instead of many hours reading.

I have already prepurchased my book. Tonight there is a parade of kids from the bookstore (it's a children's bookstore called "Books, Bytes and Beyond") to the local library, where there are HP related activities. The illustrator of the series will be there. She'll also be signing books back at the store. Dressing in character is encouraged. Then at midnight it's back to the bookstore to get the book! (I'm only going to the store at midnight.)

The movies have been good but the books are great. There's so much in the books that the movies can't do them justice. I love Harry and JK Rowling. It's because of them that my daughter loves to read. :D

I have spent the couple weeks or so re-reading the first six books (about 3200 pages worth :o ) to be ready for the final book. I'll be at B&N tonight to pick up a copy!

I tried to get you to read one of the books to me before(with the little witch hat on) with no luck, so I will not ask again. I'll have to wait for the movie!!! Thats probably close to 3 years away, so nobody spoil it for me!

OMG, good for you! That has to have been a cool experience and I can see why you'd be there waiting in line.

Book Word count (US English edition)
1 Philosopher's Stone 76,944
2 Chamber of Secrets 85,141
3 Prisoner of Azkaban 107,253
4 Goblet of Fire 190,637
5 Order of the Phoenix 257,045
6 Half-Blood Prince 168,923
7 Deathly Hallows

That's a lot of words!! Wonder how many you've already read now!!

I think I'll grab Half-Blood Prince off the shelf and read till the postman comes on Saturday.

We just got back. Six of my daughter's friends dressed in costume and purchased copies (as well as other Potterphrenalia) at the local B&N. There was a costume contest (I entered as "Hapless Muggle"), trivia questions, fortune telling, and photos with a HP look-a-like.

Now they are all ensconced in our family room eating ice cream and reading DH.

This is a good day to be a pre-teen girl.
