GO FINS!

**totally bummed**
I second the suggesttion to make it a 12 team league. Also consider having 8 playoff teams with the playoffs running weeks 15-16-17.

Although it sucks having a championship game in week #17 when a lot of starters don't play.

But definitely expand to 12 teams and let Ms. Seminole and one other join. I've read her "Gators vs. Seminoles" posts .... she's good for some serious fantasy football trash talking. :D

.... surfpirate
Done. And sorta done. :D

I bumped it to 12 teams, and put the playoffs for 14, 15 & 16, for 8 teams. Week 17 is usually terrible for fantasy starters, but if the majority wants to do it the playoffs in weeks 15, 16 & 17, I will

I'll give you several days to fill the spots. I doubt you'll have any trouble. If in a week or so you still need teams (doubtful), I'll definitely join another league.

Hey Commish,

I'm in favour of the preorder draft cuz I already have one live draft to figure out. Just wondering when the draft will take place so I can get my draft list together.

And no bench? we have to deal with zeros for bye weeks?

There are six bench slots. For whatever reason, they don't show on your team page, but they are there when I check the settings as the commissioner.

As for the draft, I think I'll shoot for right before the last preseason game. I hate for people to get 'penalized' for pre-season injuries, and since starters play very little in the last pre-season game, that's a good time, IMO. But I'm all for democracy, so if everybody's ready to go before then, and wants to draft, we can do it earlier.

I like that idea...I'm new at this and getting a feel for the teams might help me a bit with my draft.

I figure it's somewhat of a crapshoot for me this time anyway...any knowledge I can gain during the preseason would only be beneficial.
Some people never find it, some only pretend

Rather than go with the Yahoo! default rankings, I am editing my Pre-Draft Rankings for players in the Here We Are league based on the following scoring. Is this correct? Do you anticipate making any changes to the scoring? Note: I notice that there are zero (0) points awarded for number of carries, receptions and pass completions.

Here is what Yahoo! currently shows as the scoring settings:

Passing Yards (25 yards per point)
Passing Touchdowns (6)
Interceptions (-2)
Rushing Yards (10 yards per point)
Rushing Touchdowns (6)
Reception Yards (10 yards per point)
Reception Touchdowns (6)
2-Point Conversions (2)
Fumbles Lost (-2)
Offensive Fumble Return TD (6)
Field Goals 0-19 Yards (3)
Field Goals 20-29 Yards (3)
Field Goals 30-39 Yards (3)
Field Goals 40-49 Yards (4)
Field Goals 50+ Yards (5)
Point After Attempt Made (1)
Sack (1)
Interception (2)
Fumble Recovery (2)
Touchdown (6)
Safety (2)
Block Kick (2)
Points Allowed 0 points (10)
Points Allowed 1-6 points (7)
Points Allowed 7-13 points (4)
Points Allowed 14-20 points (1)
Points Allowed 21-27 points (0)
Points Allowed 28-34 points (-1)
Points Allowed 35+ points (-3)

Fractional Points: NO
Negative Points: YES

Thanks.

I just went with the default scoring system that Yahoo starts out with. (Although I might have tweaked the yardage rewards a little, I really don't remember anything before yesterday  )

I'm not a believer in giving points just for carries or receptions. If a back carries the ball 30 times for 10 yards (really extreme example), I don't think he should get rewarded for not doing anything once he gets the ball...

Besides, it's rewarding the guy more than once. You'll get points for yards, which they can only get by completing a pass or running the ball or whatever.

I will leave the scoring system as is, unless there is overwhelming desire in the league to change things up.

(reminder to self: gotta rank players....)

Oh my. I was considering creating some banner signature team logos for the teams in the Here We Are league e.g. the one I am using below for the East Coast Surfers .....

..... but then I googled Allegheny Whitefish and learned the following:

Allegheny Whitefish Noun; Condom floating down the river. "Look at the Allegheny Whitefish."

I'm not exactly sure what kind of signature logo I would come up with for that. :D

That said, if anyone would like me to create a banner signature or other logo for their fantasy football team, post your request here and/or shoot me a PM with your team name and any ideas you have and I'll see what I can come up with. Here are some I've done for my teams and friends' teams in the past:
