Our neighbors were also BN lurkers, and we've made some new friends. In the tt's a small world category, the bixxx's friends, who also went to Anguilla, have their boat in a marina less than a mile from my hose.bixxx wrote:our neighbors, BN lurkers, were great, shared their generator for our router we needed for the luge, etc..
90% of the people at the show were great. Unfortunately, the police and the town of Foxborough will have that other 10% lodged in their minds....

whatever good will we fostered with our behavior on Sep 2 went right down the tubes yesterday.... very different vibe to the crowd.... the "I just came to get drunk and stupid" element was in attendance... there was a good-sized fight after the show, which put the police in a pretty sour mood.![]()

I had a blast. Only bad thing is I had to get up at 3:30 AM the next day to drive down to New Jersey for my mother's 60th birthday party.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Hello New England Phans.....
Just a shout out from the small "FINS BUS" group (me, my wife and a Boston Terrier).
It was a pleasure meeting so many Boston area parrotheads, and BNer's. We were at both shows, and were the first bus in at 10 AM last Saturday. We found P10 to be delightful and our neighboring folks in commercial buses were just outstanding. Each picked up all of there trash, and I was able to leave straight out without hitting one bottle. Route 1 was more painful.
The shows were super, but boy, I miss Great Woods. Just a little more intimate than a stadium. Cops used my awnings for shade all day, and what a great group of guys. They were just on edge after that Countryfest thing (Since when is country crazy?).
We were over in Nantucket between shows and several bartenders told us Jimmy was coming.....I guess we just missed him based on his comments Saturday during the show (DARN IT!)
Again, you guys were awesome and I look forward to the west coast's version of JImmy's best venue at the end of the month.....IRVINE BABY!

Well, it was nice to put some faces to the names
. . . Zuke, SchoolGirlHeart, TommyBahamma, Aeroparrot, and more.
Out of the 9 shows (I think it's been 9) that my wife and I have been to, this was definitely in the top 3. Although it was a bit humid outside the P-10 lot atmosphere was defintely an awesome one. This was actually the first time that we'd parked near any of the busses/ campers and I have to say, it is definitely a different scene there than it is where the cars park. I don't know what it was, but I think because the parties were bigger, and sometimes a bit rowdier, it had a different feel to it. Plus the big vehicles alone added something . . . shadows if nothing else. The last time I had been near one of these lots was the days of the Buffett Bus at Great Woods (heck, I don't know if that thing is even around anymore). Definitely cool goings on over there . . . I can imagine what it may have been like INSIDE some of the busses.
Anyway, Myself, mywife and the large group of folks that we were with had a great time. We got there just before noon and were drinking by 12:15. At about 3:00 or so I took off on my own, and my wife said I was gone for 3 HOURS!!! Well, I don't remember it being that long, but I do remember being down by a camper that had a d.j. playing music on the corner with tons of people dancing, plus I remember going on to some big red bus that had a deck for a roof. Other than that, there was few blurry spots to the afternoon. Once it seemed to be getting darker out I managed my way back to our spot and hung out for a bit longer before heading into the show.
We took the advice of others and waited to enter the show until about 20 minutes before Jimmy came on (knowing about the opening act). As we usually do, myself and my brother in-law were set to smuggle some bottled-pure-liquid-beverage-enjoyment into the show. As we were walking, we over heard a cop tell one of the others walking across route one "Don't dump the cup out, just take in to the show with you". At first I thought it was a joke, but when we got to the entry point the security checked nothing, not even a weak pat-down. I saw one girl walk in with a cup in her hand!!! I don't know if that was a one-off episode, but I couldn't believe it just the same. I didn't like the wrist band thing . . . thought it was a total waste of time, but in the end we got to our seats in B4 about 3 minutes prior to JB riding out on his bicycle. While I had been to previous stadium shows before, this was definitely one of the better stadium experiences. we where seated on the aisle just right of the soundboard facing the stage. The aisles were nice and wide, which allowed us to get out of the cramped seats and dance, move around, etc.
When the encore came on, I just waited for Glory Days to begin and we made our exit. First of all, I can't stand that song, no matter who plays it, second of all, normally we stay right to the end, but we knew that there wouldn't be more than one song after that, and I think we were right
. . . what was it by the way?
We got to our car, and traveled about 3 minutes to the Endzone and were passed out by about 11:45 or so. Again, this is not typical as we are usually in the parking lot for the duration - 1:30 or so.
Over all, a very, very great JB experience.
BTW, anyone who say they may have had issues with the cops, or security is either full of crap, or was doing stuff they shouldn't have been doing. Those guys were nothing but fully accomodating to the crowd all day long, as far as drinking, and any otherwise silly behavior.
. . . One more thing, to the guy who was asking about my AVATAR, yes that is a photo from a rugby match and YES, the one guy's fingers are sticking INTO the other guys eye sockets.

. . . Zuke, SchoolGirlHeart, TommyBahamma, Aeroparrot, and more.

Thanks again for everything. We were the Parrottheads from Winsted CT right next to you. You guys were great. I'd like to keep in touch with you. And a very big thanks for the towel covering your ice block thet Mrs gave to my wife Sarah. Quite a hot day, but she pulled through and was able to get into her party spirit in time for the show. We too were all DISGUSTED with the parking lot at the end of the show. Never again do I want to see a lot left like that.

The Buffett Bus is no more but The Buffett Bus II is in service and was there for the 9/2 show. Tried to talk them into going again 9/8 but they we're still recovering.icarus wrote:Well, it was nice to put some faces to the names

We had a great time. P-10 was just fantastic. I saw TommyB (I think) but never made it back to say Hello.
The only bad thing about the night was we we're standing during the show and at one point my wife needed to sit,Arthritis, when she did her butt felt wet. It seems that the person behind her threw up on her chair and left without bothering to tell us.
Great show but I hope next year it's back at GW. Much less walking.

I just got back from the vacation that followed the concert and I wanted to stop by and thank Tommy B AGAIN, for getting me into the second row and BRIEFLY (one of the staff had NO sense of humor) to front row center for the first song at least. Even after going back to A4 I was able to work my way over closer to center and will never forget seeing Jimmy that close. Also made it back to the first row for his final encore.Love ya TB!
Also, it was great to meet SGH, Mac & Tagalong, Ravi, Comtnfish and FINS2OOB as well as Finsupinfla - and of course the famous (infamous) Zuke and his incredibly understanding wife. I'm sorry I didn't get to spend more time with all of you but I was there with friends from VT as well. There will be other concerts though as well as SJTP, MOTM and (please God) Tahiti!
