Well they beat us twice last year. The NFC west will probably not be the weakest division again. Looking forward to a great season.

The NFC West is stacked . . . and I have San Fran as a 10 win team. Seatlle will be just fine if Mr. Alexander is ok.seattlePH wrote:Well they beat us twice last year. The NFC west will probably not be the weakest division again. Looking forward to a great season.

There is a possibility that Foxboro will ban tailgating all together because of the what happened at the "Country-fest"

If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

That's the same article that was posted in the BN "News" section the other day (Unless the link didn't work correctly) and I don't see anything that indicates they are considering banning the tailgating altogether. But the idiots last week sure didn't help anything. Hopefully they'll talk to the folks in Mansfield and figure out how to make it work - and that Jimmy draws a different kind of crowd (with a few exceptions) Checking to see that everyone who tries to park has a ticket would be a good start - I know that will make it hard for folks who are hoping to get a ticket in the parking lot (as well as for me to get rid of my 1 remaining ticket) but it sounds like if they'd done that it might have been better. Also, GW made you park where they told you so you know you have to get in line with the folks you want to park by. It sounds like they did so many things wrong, I just hope they don't take it out on us, the private lots will get overwhelmed pretty fast I'd imagine.

Nothing in the article says that but knowing the town, they will overreact.ScarletB wrote:That's the same article that was posted in the BN "News" section the other day (Unless the link didn't work correctly) and I don't see anything that indicates they are considering banning the tailgating altogether. One question is where would you start checking tickets? At the town line?

They wouldn't be able to control the private lots but GW did it last year - one of our friends in a car ahead of us had to run back and get her ticket from her husband in another car or they wouldn't let the car through. My guess is they'd have told them to turn around as there was room for cars to go in both directions. And yes, I'm afraid they will grossly over-react assuming that all music fans are going to be same bunch of jerks.aeroparrot wrote:Nothing in the article says that but knowing the town, they will overreact.ScarletB wrote:That's the same article that was posted in the BN "News" section the other day (Unless the link didn't work correctly) and I don't see anything that indicates they are considering banning the tailgating altogether. To be honest i was at country fest and didnt notice too many problems everyone was well behaved where i was and i was in the largest lot. Only afterwoods did i find out how bad it was. Everyone at the concert was around my age (21) so im sure that added to the whole problem, the traffic didnt seem that bad to me at all probable 20 mins on route 1 to get in and 15 for me to get out right at the end of the concert, What we have to remember about the tickets is that GW doesnt charge to get in the lots, THere is no way Mr Kraft is going to turn down 40 dollars just because someone doesnt have tickets. Either way Mr Kraft runs that town and if he wants tailgating then tailgating will occur

Either that or they will tell you to park at one of the private lots and tell you to walk in with security.SchoolGirlHeart wrote:GW made me show them the email saying my tickets were at will call.....TommyBahama wrote:and if your tickets are at will call????...That is the line i always use to get in if i don't have a ticket!!

Last year at Great Woods I didn't have Saturday ticket. After all the BNers met in the McDonald's parking lot we all drove in together in one line of cars. They asked to see my tickets, I told them the person 6 cars up had them and that I would come back and show him. Of course the 17 year old kid who was checking could care less so he let me in.

I'm still very curious about a few things-
When is the tailgating actually starting, and what lots are available? I've heard about certain prices for certain areas- which are the best? can the early tailgaters simply party at the hotel parking lots first? And what's up with the construction?

A friend was the End Zone for the Country Fest show. She got to the End Zone around 11am and said their parking lot was close to capacity at that point. For Jimmy's shows, I would expect the lot at End Zone to be full by no later than 11am. Keep in mind that it is about a 3/4 mile hike (slightly uphill) to the stadium.
There is always construction on Route 1, but the majority of it is right at the stadium now. Most of it is on Route 1 north, as they are building a strip mall adjacent to the stadium. I believe it closes one lane of Route 1 north.

Cold today...60s/70s. Will warm up by the end of the week. Pack something for cool weather but expect it to be warm.seattlePH wrote:Inside of 3 weeks. How's the weather out there? I guess it doesn't matter...it's always grass skirts and Seahawks jerseys in Margaritaville. See y'all at the End Zone.

Pre-Concert Parking at Gillette
I was at the pre-season home opener for the Pats and the word we heard was no parking in any lot owned by Gillette which, is 90% of them, prior to 3:30 the day of the show. Apparently, since the "country fest" incident, there have been many meetings and they are working on a new set of rules for Buffett. If anyone has additional info please add, we are getting close to the day!
