I always get depressed after the show. It's a process that builds stating with the anticipation of the concert date announcements. Then theres the hunt for tickets, getting the tickets, planning the event, buying stuff, painting the fin for the car, the anticipation of the show....then BOOM! its all over till next year. Gee, I need a margarita just thinking about it. This year the time between the Atlanta show announcement and the actual show was way too short.

I wish I was going to a concert for which to feel depressed about being over when it's over. :(

I know.....I'm a whiner.

This year I planned and prepped big time as many of the Tinley goers had seen. I ran my tailgate and orchestrated my madness which was pretty gratifying for me. THEN it was showtime and Poof.

I am depressed but really proud of the good time I provided for alot of people I've never met. Its cool seeing pictures of smiling faces enjoying your activities.

I am excited about my 10/20 Vegas show but because I don't have to do the prep work. This concert and party is just for me . . . no planning and no prep. No orchestrating no coordinating. Pull up a chair near the pool enjoy a drink and watch the Buffett Party blow through.

It's 2 concerts for me this year but for me 2 complete different experiences which I cherish and are the moments I am likely to remember forever.

Well, the Cincy show is almost in the record books... Jimmy just played A Pirate Looks at 40 and I am so sad. This is the summer that I am 40 and I missed the darn show for the 1st time in 12 years. I did toast the song with a LANDSHARK! He then followed it up with Southern Cross (one of my fave covers). M'Ville playing now and I am starting to go into a deep depression. I am looking online for airline tix to Hawaii!!! I just gotta go... Fins Up!

Anyone who really enjoys life (as I would estimate 99% of Parrothead do) becomes at least a little depressed after the concert is over. All of the activities that build up to seeing a concert, from anticipating the tour stops to the hassles that come with trying to get the best seat possible, are all part of the experience. Chatting on the boards and planning the concert day activities cause private, mental feeding frenzies. It is like a mini-vacation that only Parrotheads can understand. Life has its rewards and a Buffett concert is one of the greatest rewards you can experience after working your a$$ off all year long. Primal scream therapy for most of us.

My concern is what happens after that FINAL, big, summer concert that we all expect is coming sooner or later. Now there is fodder for a Dr. Phil show. Imagine Dr. Phil doing a tour to all of the big sheds around the country that Jimmy plays and shrinking the audience of Parrotheads! It could be the premise for a great SNL skit. It will be tough after those final shows...

You make a good point but all things come to an end. I'm resigned to that fate I just want to be able to share it with as many of my friends as possible . . . "It's OK to come join my cult ". . . and I want to know when the end is coming.

Most importantly I want my daughter to be able to experience Jimmy. She's only 3 and has a way to go I'm thinking 5 or 6yo.
