I think the issue was more along the lines of the secrecy and underlying deception. When I was heavily involved with the vines here people would ask me if it would be ok to seed my recording elsewhere. I respectfully requested that they didn't. My loyalties were here at the time and it is my belief that if the seed is here this is where it should stay. That is still my belief and something I request...the only thing I request for all of the work I put into a show.

No one is saying that this music can not be shared. I am all about sharing. That is why I opened my site. Since I was no longer able to contribute here I opened a place where people who wanted a great quality recording could come and get it. I look at these vines lists here these days and I see the length of them. I see the lack of seeders and I sympathize because many on these lists were the same people who were on my vines time and time again. I have these vines up and functioning relatively quick and they are usually on my ftp server the next day. EVERYONE is welcome to them.

Getting music from someone who records is not a right it is a privilege. No one has to record and share but those who do, do so because they are happy to do it. Abiding by a recorder/seeders whishes should be respected for all of the work that was put into it whether it be here or on any other site. On every trading site with traders/tapers, they all have their own stipulations and rightly so. They put alot of work and effort into it in order to share it with everyone. I think it is only right to respect their request.

EVERYONE is welcome to the music I have. That is why I opened the site. The only thing is that I share my music on my site to the members. It's not a difficult task to become one either. A simple registering process is all it is..much like joining up to this site. EVERYONE is welcome to join my site and to all I have...even you JoAnne. BN'ers, BW'ers, JDZ'ers and everyone else out there are more than welcome to come by and grab some music, join a vine, grab from the ftp or torrent site. I do not keep anyone out. I share all that I have only I share my music there as that was the choice I was left with. I asked to be reinstated here three times so I could continue to contribute to the vines. The only answer I received was "I dont know." Hence the birth of my site. It has worked out rather well too. Now Parrottheads have a place to come that is dedicated to the music and to the quality that should in everyone's collection.

I invite EVERYONE who wants a show to come by my place. it is there for the taking. I only ask that my recordings and vines stay at my site while i am vining that particular show. BN has it's rules and I as a recorder have mine. I operate the same there as I did here. I will share all that I have. I only ask that the proper respect due is shown. That is not alot to ask.

NYC Shrkling is right. We should all get along. My olive branch has always been extended. If you pholks here at BN need a seed, you are more than welcome to come by and join a vine. I am always happy to help but since I can't share here I do so at my place. Many of you know me and I have met alot of you in person. I do not bite...unless asked.

So there it is. Do what you will with this post. I am sure it will be deleted and this screen name banned or altered like my real screen name. I felt that I needed to clarify things on this issue and in this particular thread. My invitation stands to ALL here at BN!

There was no secrecy and underlying deception. I don't know the person who PMed me AT ALL... they asked to remain anonymous for what I thought was a reasonable reason, so I obliged. I never questioned quality, I never questioned where they got it, and spooner never even crossed my mind. I just replied "ok - thanks!"

If it IS someone who got the show from your site, I have no idea, nor do I think is it my problem... I had nothing to do with it other than being the mod that was contacted. If people ask me to post something from an anonymous source, I grant their wishes as long as it's reasonable.

Your members have posted on BN numerous times for people to go to your site... we've never put a stop to it, even though I personally think it's disrespectful to come in our vines to direct people to yours.

This is MY opinion on trading and vines. For 6 years on BN, I have been fortunate enough to receive many concert recordings, all of which I thoroughly enjoy. I do not know how to record them, and can barely listen to RM in the 1st place due to dial up, so I am grateful for all I have acquired. FTP's - I get the gist, but never explored it due to dial up.

Shows come my way via various methods. The first was within days of signing up for BN, excited about winning the Hokey Pokey costume contest at Alpine, and being brought on stage to talk to Jimmy. 7lords, who I didn't know, asked me if I wanted a copy of the show! I had no idea such a thing was even possible, and boy was I thrilled by this generous offer from a complete stranger! We since became friends.

Many other people have since done the same thing, as recently as 12vmanRick just today, and Migration Michelle last week. I have since done the same thing for other people as well. Before I knew how to burn a cd, other pholks let me send them B&P, or minimal $ just to cover cd's and shipping. Even since learning how, some pholks with more to offer than I have to trade back will let me do the same thing. And when possible, I will jump on vines of shows, make my copies, and pass them along.

To me, it's always been about sharing with phellow parrotheads, and paying it forward, and I always do my part, and always express my gratitude. I've never concerned myself with quality, but I've never been disappointed. I do have some pretty crappy recordings, but they're still fun to listen to! I've also never concerned myself with the source, other than whomever sent it to me. When I share, I probably don't give credit to who recorded it, because for some, I don't even know! Trading and vines always used to be very selfless gestures... apparently not so much any more with the flack from some toward the anonymous seed.

Someone else I don't know PMed me in recent weeks about either Chicago or Alpine, and if I'd have a copy of the show. I told them I'd let them know, but to check our trading forum or spoonershows to see if there's a vine. Someone else just PM'd me for spooner's address, and I gave it to him.

I do not feel we are in competition... we're just 2 different sites, 2 different sources. We are not trying to sabotage any of your efforts. I am just trying to share the love. Isn't that what it's about?

The issue here, to me, is about seeding a vine on BN, which has happened thanks to a couple BNers generosity.

I just want to add my support to what Tiki just said. I don't trade shows, so I really have no vested interest in saying this. But if the administrator of spoonershows (or wHatever the site name is) thinks whoever this person that provided the show to BN got it from his site, then that is HIS problem to fix. We cannot and do not monitor all vines to find out the original source. When spooner was here, we never questioned where he got his shows. He could have gotten them from another site for all I know. We accepted them though(as we do with all) in gratitude and moved on. I for one am tired of reading all the petty comments, bickering, and perceived rivalry between the two sites. I'll say it here and now...I could care less what they do at BW, spooner's site, etc. I don't visit there, lurk there, etc. I love you all here and only want to see this site flourish....and the people here to get along.

Well...my post wasn't clear enough I suppose. That is the second time and from two different moderators that you have mentioned "rivalries." I do not have that mind set whatsoever. You are a news site. I am a music site.

I had hoped to clarify things but I guess I failed in my attempt.

I was trying to offer help but I can see that it is unwanted. No problem.

The offer still stands and to help sunseeker since she doesnt know the name of the site it is spoonershows.com and it is posted in all of the vines here that I recorded the shows I seeded as I still do today.

My offer still stands to everyone here, there and everywhere.

Hey just wanted to touch bases with you all I finished doing my two day job in Iowa. We were forty five minutes into Illinois when I was sent up to cover the bridge collapse in Minneapolis. Sorry to all, but I just worked a 35 hour day, but it’s my job…….and sometimes this is what my life can be like. I’m trying to figure out weather or not you want me to send out this copy of the show. I recorded the show from DVD format to a wav. file, then divided it into tracks, sent back to the burner in wav. form then made a two disk set. One for the first set, the other for the second…..I am happy with the out come of the show on disk, but I was thinking about when I finally get home I would love to try to feed the show from the DVD recorder to my sound recorder in my computer to see if I can make it better. If you all have a copy on the vine let me know and I'll just do it on my own time…..Thanks….and I if I can help you all out let me know….I don’t know about you but I had way to much fun at Alpine, that nobody should have that much fun…one of the best ever….

I will be hosting it here for alll of those that want it and know how to run bit torrent software. I have found that bit torrent right now is the easiest and fastest way to download shows
