Gillette Stadium show, OH BROTHER!

Post by Johnny's Lounge »

I went to the Country Music Festival last night, fantastic show! 11.7 miles from my house, 2 hours to get there. I guess I should have left much earlier than I did.

Leaving after the show was crazy, not Great Woods type of crazy either, a traffic disaster. All of the people helping to guide you to your parking spot should be on hand after the show to direct people back out.

A woman I was talking to after the show had some really crazy problems regarding her 11'th row from the stage seats. Somebody may want to post their comments here.

Oh yeah, the funny whiney noise you may hear could be the bicycle police coming up fast behind you while walking. We actually got yelled at by them for being in the way walking through the path on the way out of the stadium. Police bicycles buzzing by us with the little flashing lights you could only see after they went by you. We felt like we were in the middle of a bad movie scene from "PeeWee Herman in Hell". I never even had a beer yesterday so it's not like I was buzzed or anything and I didn't know what the hell was going on until they were past us. I wonder what would have happened if somebody with a buzz stumbled in front of them? :pirate: :wench: :pirate: :wench: :pirate: :wench: :pirate:

i was there also...fromt row in the sandbar....no problems in the stadium....or walking into or leaving the Stadium...Traffic was a nightmare....but i parked at The End Zone....i was on 495 at 12:00..i think the show ended around 11....it took a while to walk to the car with all the people...staying there for Buffett so that will be a non issue!!!

Traffic going in took a while...but again i didn't get there till about 1-1:30 due to traffic on Mass Pike and 495.(but that was due to renters heading to The Cape or North i would have to believe )....and it was a 3:30 show start......so route 1 was pretty backed up going in...... parking close to the venue...seemed like a nightmare

Hmmmm.....

After 10 plus shows at Great Woods, this is making me a bit nervous.

We are coming out from California driving a new 45' tour bus motorhome. We plan on driving in around 11 am from Hartford as we will be going to Kenny Chesney the night before.

Our wishful plan is to park the bus in the lot early, party all day, see the show, and spend the night in the bus.....in the lot. We have done this at countless shows out west and always been good and no one bounces us at night due to drinking (no one will force you to move a rig like this after drinking and towing is not an option.

Hope our plan works, we will be back on 9/8 to repeat it! Then back home....

I went to the Country Fest too. Music was great. Left with friends
early enough that we were tailgating right across from
Gillette shortly after 11am. Other than the fact that the lot we
were in was full of young kids that left trash everywhere and
did not know the definition of pacing, it went well. Yes, traffic
was a nightmare leaving, but so is Great Woods. We fired up
the grill, killed about an hour then one of the lot attendants got
us a spot in line and we got out reasonably fine. Traffic was
backed up on Rt 1 from a 4 or 5 car fender bender , but it
wasn't much different than the time we normally would need to
get out of Great Woods.

Great Woods would make you move the RV or tow it. Not sure about Gillette. Pats fans? Input?

Here are the parking rules and regulations directly from the Gillette Stadium Website:

Jimmy Buffett & The Coral Reefer Band Parking Guide

General Parking Rates

* $40 for cars
* $150 for RVs (enter P10)
* $150 for Limos (enter P4 from north or P6 from the south)
* $200 for buses (enter P10 only)
* $40 for motorcycles (one per space)

Please note: All lots owned and operated by Gillette Stadium will open three hours prior to the concert, or 4:30 PM on September 2nd and 8th. In the interest of public safety please do not arrive early and park along Route 1 waiting for the parking lots to open. Local and State Police will be patrolling Route 1 and requesting any stopped vehicles to move off of Route 1.

Parking and traffic control is something we are constantly reviewing here at Gillette Stadium in order to make your experience on game day the best it can be. With the volume of cars coming into and out of the lots from primarily one road, it is essential we ask for (and need!) your cooperation when parking at Gillette Stadium.

As a reminder please respect our rules and regulations:

No Ticket No Entry
Park As Directed
Plan Ahead
One Vehicle One Space
Watch For Other Fans
Keep The Aisles Clear
No Trailers
No Over Night Parking
No Solicitation No Flyers

Gillette Stadium Parking Rules and Regulations
Our current operational policies outlined below, are necessary for two primary reasons. First, they allow us to maintain sufficient capacity for all our fans, regardless of their arrival time. Second, they help us to efficiently and rapidly move cars off of Route 1, which reduces the travel time. Any type of deviation from this process increases the travel time for all fans. Even one car can have a ripple effect that affects everyone. Please familiarize yourself with these policies and help us keep things moving

Parking Rules and Regulations:

No Ticket No Entry - In order to ensure all event ticket holders have a parking spaces, Gillette Stadium requires all vehicles accessing our parking lots to be ticket holders for that days event.

Park As Directed - Follow the directions given by the parking attendants and park within the space they have designated for your use. We do not allowed fans to park their vehicles where they choose in any of our parking lots.

Plan Ahead - If you plan to meet friends and tailgate side by side, you must arrive together to park together (one vehicle after another). We do not hold spaces for those arriving at a later time. We do not allow individuals to wait in a particular section of a parking lot until their friends arrive.

One Vehicle One Space - Please park your vehicle within one parking space. You will be asked to move your vehicle if you occupy more than one space.

Watch For Others Fans - Please be courteous to other arriving fans. Wait until the parking space next to yours is occupied before you open your doors or unload any tailgating items.

Keep The Aisles Clear - Once you are parked and the spaces around you are filled please do not pull your vehicle into the drive aisles as they prohibit emergency access around the parking lots.
Any vehicle left in the aisles will be towed at the owner's expense.

No Trailers - Car or Truck trailers and RV camper trailers (fifth wheels) are not allowed in Gillette Stadium parking lots.

No Over Night Parking - Gillette Stadium parking lots close within 2 hours after an event, therefore, no overnight parking is allowed.

No Solicitation No Flyer's- Solicitation in the parking lots is expressly prohibited unless prior written approval is obtained from Gillette Stadium management. Any person(s) seen soliciting in the parking lots will be removed from the property.

By following these rules and regulations you'll help ensure that all of your fellow fans are able to locate spaces and park in a timely manner.

WOW, parking rules seem to be strict at Gillette.

Hope they will relax the rules about the parking lot opening only 3 hours before showtime (4:30pm); what a disaster that wouild be as tens of thousands of parrotheads are all lined up to get in at the same time.

Being from tampa I decided to look up the lot rules at the Ford Amp. and it states the parking lot opens two hours before showtime; last several years I beleive I arrived around 12:30 or so and the lot was filling up fast.

Of course, I will be on RM listening to the show so won't have to deal with it, but hay, even if they stick to their guns I would still rather be at the show than not.

At least their "rules' don't say anything about pulling boats into the lot. :D :D :D

Enjoy,

I was at country fest too and as I sat in 2 hours of traffic to get IN the parking lot I just thought about how chaotic its going to be for buffett, leave early and prepare for dumb parking attendants. I think you are better off parking further away, not worth 40 bucks!

One of the great things about Tinley Park was there was no parking fee. $40 is robbery, it's not even half of that to park for an NFL game in Panthers country!

My sister-in-law went down for the tailgating aspect of the country fest. Around 545p the cops came around and announced that if you did not have tickets you had until 6pm to leave of face arrest. After that I am betting for Buffett that they may check for tickets on the way in.

There are other lot's but they aren't secure and often hard to find in the dark after stadium events. If you think 40 is high, there is Mobil gas station near Fenway Park that charges 90 per car on Red Sox Game days.
