So Jimmy's last concert was the 28th of July and the next one is Aug 30...where does one JB go for the entire month? :)

If you have to ask, you can't afford it.

My guess is some family time with the keets, out on the water somewhere. Somewhere where they don't know him, or at least bother him. I have to recharge after a long weekend seeing him, I imagine he likes to do the same after a few shows.

Well, I was hoping that it might be enough time to slip in a concert in the Southeast. :) BUT, I am sure I am going to get some more "smart a" replies for that comment too. :( Sorry I started this thread.

Yeah but you all out near Denver get a small club show almost every year now. Id take that and pay more, then a bigger venue show any day. Just don't wanna deal with the insane cold, and the massive amounts of that devilish white crap that comes up from the sky.

3 hours, 32 minutes
Total Est. Distance: 198.64 miles to Aspen is not 'near Denver' for most of us.. nor are the huge prices. And I believe the Chicago area has it's share of insane cold and snow.

My family got more snow in the 'burbs last winter than we did in Northern Minnesota

My mom's husband, has a boat docked at a harbor in Ventura, CA. About a week ago he was down there cleaning the boat and took a walk along the docks. He got to the edge of one of the docks and saw a boat called "Tully Mars". He had just finished reading a Salty Piece of Land and wondered who would name their boat after the lead character. When he looked up, sure enough, Jimmy Buffett was standing there. They chatted for a couple of minutes and then parted way. Jimmy was there working on his boat with 5 other guys. He then went back later in the afternoon to get a picture with Jimmy, at my mom's request, but the boat was all closed up. They think he was just passing through since the boat was parked at the edge of a dock, instead of in a slip. Anyway, there's a bit of an answer, he was sailing last week ;)

Just found out that 2( Cameron & Sarah) of his kids went to or are going to Private schools up near me...i was talking to a guy Friday night and he was saying that Jimmy sat in one of his classes at Rumsey Hall( Washington,CT)....unfortunately he didn't choose that school...but decided on another school in the Northwest hills !!! I think the girl went to Hotchkis and i can't remember which school the son is going to...there are a few prep/private schools in that area!!...so i think he spent the time with family and will be moving his son to school!!

Two years in a row is hardly "practically every year." It's been a 2-time thing. I don't think it's a treat we'll be getting every single year, and probably not even this year.

Plus, as Penny said, it's over 3 hours to get there, outrageously expensive, and smack-dab before Christmas--not a time when most people have tons of extra cash floating around.

It's completely worth it to go, however. :D

3 hours is a lot closer than 16+ hours. Hell I wish he would do one of those shows here in the midwest. Id probably be willing to drive 8 hours or so if I knew it was gonna be one of those sorta shows.

He was at an art auction out my way a few days ago . . . I try not to post personal Jimmy stuff because I just don't care but since I know a Tommy I figured what the hell . . . I keep trying to tell people that he really is a boring old man with lots of toys that get him around quicker than most . . . not sure what he bought by the way but one of the waitresses at the auction snuck a picture.

You were able to tell this from only meeting me once?
