I think I'm drinkin' Patron gold. I've been hearing good things about the Cabo Wabo, but until I finish the Patron, I've got no room for it in the liquor cabinet (one premium tequila at a time). Milagro's not bad.12vmanRick wrote:Cuervo gold and Margaritaville are both blended and not pure 100% agave but the Lime flavord M'ville tastes great in a margarita as does teh Mango in a Mangorita. Cuervo does make a 100% agave, Tradicional and Familia. 1800 is no longer a Cuervo product but is 100% agave and I only like the Silver. I am not familiar with Tarantula except that they put out a pre-mixed thing that sells well to party goers. That doesn't make it any good though.TropicalTroubador wrote:On the subject of tequila, I don't find any major taste differences between Cuervo and M'ville, but I won't drink either one straight. And as they're usually priced around the same, I'll buy whichever one's on sale when I need a "main shelf" mixing tequila. For the good stuff, I'm still experimenting...but I kinda like Patron, and I *love* Tarantula Azul.
If you like Patron silver, I highly recommend you compare it against Don Julio and Cabo Wabo. Then step in to the Milagro and once you've made those rounds start going with some single barrel anjeo's.
I suppose if I were willing to pay $50+ for a bottle of tequila, I'd get something I'd enjoy sipping. But that's not the ballpark I play in.

Ok, I was at Migration too, and enjoyed paying $3/bottle....however I liked it prior to that, hence the avatar.

Its not horrible, but its not great.
I can see it cutting the saltiness and sweetness (if you use premade margarita mix for ease at the tailgates) of margaritas and it makes a good second addition to doublefisting at conerts.
I think it tastes better than corona. I disklike corona immensly.
Milagro is an excellent tequilla and its smooth. I prefer it to patron and at half the price it makes it even better. i have never tried gold milagro but I would like to, maybe for the room in vegas. I would never use the silver in a margarita...(well maybe) its too good to sip or shoot. In florida its around 25-29 dollars depending on where you get it. never seen it above 30.
If I get "normal" tequila. I get Suaza. Its way better than quervo in my opinion and not a syrupy
or fake tasting. But than again... its all a matter of personal tastes.

Decent beer. As I have read and have to agree "A good lawn mower beer". Great for those days when you are hot and want something cold and well, is a beer. Don't necessarily crave it when I am sitting back doing nothing, but it isn't doe pee by any stretch. I can't get it without help from vacationers yet, but will buy it occasionally when it arrives (if it arrives) locally. Agree with some of the other posters when it is said that it is a little pricy for something that has only been on the market for less than a year and is not available nationwide. All in all, keeps up the mood during concert replays and goes down nice when I am suffering from a severe case of swampus!

I used to be a beer snob, like I used to be a music snob
Then I woke up and realized I wasn't just a snob, I was a jerk
It's a nice cool refreshing beer. Who could ask for more ? Hooray Beer !

I like different beers for different reasons & occasions.
After 8 or 9 beers, they all taste the same anyway.

It's fine. I don't drink as much beer as I used to. Cool packaging and now available in CT. I'll bring some to Gillette. But beer will take a back seat to margaritas. I'll be squeezing limes all morning
I do have a suggestion for marguritas however. If you can find it, buy a bottle of KAWAMA orange liqeur. Tastes exactly like countreau, same proof 80%, but its $10.00 cheaper per bottle. You can always go the triple sec route but this is a great upgrade.
Recipe:
Juice of a 1 or 2 limes
splash of OJ
1 part Cabo Wabo Blanco
2 parts Sauza Gold
1 part KAWAMA
Lather, rinse, repeat

And as I grow older, there is so much that I do not know. I'm drawn to those who are bolder and go where no one dares to go...
