Nautical Flags on Bama Breeze Stage

Need some help with a question that someone sent me:

My wife, son and I attended the Alpine Valley (East Troy) show, and have a question about the two nautical flags used on the set of the set of the Bama Breeze tour.

I found on the internet that the white flag with red crosses is a I Need Assistance flag.

The other flag appears to be another I Need Assistance flag, but it has a seal of some sort in the middle. The seal looks like it could be a state seal or a countries' seal.

Can you tell me what that flag is?

Steve

There usually is a state flag hanging from the 'bar' of whatever state they're playing in too! :D

I remember posting this after the Houston Show at Minute Maid Park

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When we walked in and saw the stage setup, it was immediately reminiscent of the video made at the Firedog Saloon to go with Bama Breeze.

It also reminded me of the comfy little setup on stage for Jerry Jeff Walker's Birthday Bashes.

There was a beautiful old Jukebox. The flags with the Florida Flag and Alabama state flags that you see in the Bama Breeze video were hanging right in the middle and blowing in the wind all night.

They also had a Texas flag and U. S. Flag in the corners of the bar. It really gave the feel of Jimmy and the band playing in a bar.

There were two really neat surfboards and a life ring with The Last Mango on it.

One surfboard looked like a really old one, but since I DON't know my surf stuff, I'm not sure. It had Lt. Colonel Wm Kilgore, AIRMOBILE. I'm SURE there is some special significance to it and reasons for Jimmy to include it onstage. (Of course I googled... )

There were all kinds of old license plates on the walls.

Jimmy rode out on stage on a bicycle (that looked like a bamboo bicycle, but I was too far back to tell.) It had a basket with a LANDSHARK LAGER in it I'm SURE. I think Jimmy said something about Landshark as he got on stage.

One beer sign had what looked like it said Hurricane Draft...so could there be another new beer in the brewing?

And yeah, Connie nailed it when she said Jimmy had on yellow shorts and an aqua blue t-shirt...oh and rasta color sweat bands

I'm sure some there will be some great photos of the stage. It was nostalgic.

I agree!

I do recall now in Tinley Park, my wife saying... look! It's the Illinois flag over on the right!

And in Houston we were so far back I could not tell what that said on the Florida flag, even with binoculars. It wasn't until we moved up to the seats of that other guy that was sick and couldn't make it (wasn't it rum-ace?), that I could barely read the word Florida, with binoculars of course!

so Alabama chose the nautical "I need assistance" flag for their state flag? Interesting...

Actually, I remember seeing the two flags hanging together inside the FloraBama. Nice touch Jimmy :)

More than "I need assistance" it is the cross of St. Andrew which is also seen on the Confederate Battle Flag with a different color scheme.

Here's the whole stage where you can see the US flag on the left and the PA flag on the right along with the other 2 in the center.

Nothing against the citizens of those fine states, but those might be the two most unimaginative flags in the Union.
