Global warming is average climate, not instantaneous weather like this. If it was that warm in Dutch Harbor, AL for the entire summer for months on end, then it might be time to worry.
If you want to talk about Global Warming, talk about how the hottest years on record all were in the last 10-15 years or so and how heat waves worldwide have tripled since the 1960s.
Great Pics DH!!! It must be an absolutely gorgeous place to be during the summer.
Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

Not to be too nit picky but if Dutch Harbor ALABAMA (AL) was having 82 degree days in the middle of summer....Hell WOULD be freezing over!!!!
On the other hand....Dutch Harbor, Alaska (AK) has returned back to it normal cool and breezy self....It is not uncommon to have uncommon warm days in the summer here....just need the right Wx conditions:
- A clear day
- No wind
- Summer
- minimal snow to reflect the heat
and
- Good tundra growth to absorb the heat (dark Green)
In the 12 years living here and many trips since I can remember about 7 or 8 days like that......In 1991 I actually got sunburned when it was around 75 and I feel asleep on the beach....
Attitude: The difference between ordeal and adventure

No matter where ya go....There you are.
Come Back, Come Back.....to the South Bering Sea Islands....

Its got nothing to do with geography.....I blame it on the post office!!!! They're the ones that switched us to those funky 2 letter codes!!!!!

Also, last year when I was helping Victoria learn her states and capitals, we practiced Juneau as "Joo-know what I mean? The capital of Alaska!"
And, a somewhat estranged uncle (my mom's oldest brother) was a radio DJ somewhere near Anchorage.
We can play 6 degrees of Alaska!!!
And yes I do know a couple of the Deadliest Captains...they deliver to our plant....in the opening show this year they showed a bunch of shots of the plant....and my favorite bartender...daniel..she's the one who "tucked" the bet away for safe keeping.....Sorry to tell all you guys out there...she's married....
