Lots of you all know about my "new baby". Delaney is now 8 months old. (She's 1/2 Jack Russell and !/2 Beagle) When we got her, we knew she had a belly button hernia. The vet said they'd fix it when we spayed her. Then...while we were in Florida, over the Summer, she got a "cherry eye". We treated her down there but it never went totally away. So, this morning she is at the vet's having all 3 fixed (and her nails trimmed!)
She will be home this afternoon but she'll be VERY sore. I am worried sick but I'm sure she's fine. I just want her home and healed. That's my baby!!!
PHIN power to Sarah Delaney!!! I love you baby girl!!!
(okay, now I feel better!)

Lots of Phin Power from SC!!! I have a papillon that had the same problem with the hernia. She was spayed just before a year old and had the hernia repaired at the same time. She did great and is now 7 years old. Didn't slow her down a bit!

I had a cocker that had cherry eye.....easy fix, nothin' to it. By the time he came home from the vet, you wouldn't even know they did anything!
I'm sure with all three procedures, it's a little more intense.....but heck, with half jack russell, there's nothing that can stop that doggie!
Phins up for Delaney!

The Vet just called. She is out of surgery and waking up. He said she did great. Her eye is perfect and her tummy is flattened out. (except for the stitches) No more "out-y" belly button. Man, I love that little thing. I couldn't eat this morning. I know, it's silly, but that's MY DELANEY!!!
Thanks for all the prayers and I'll update again after we get her home this evening.

This funny little girl...she would NOT eat her Rimadyl pill, even wrapped in a little piece of turkey. After peanut butter, which she LOVES, it went down. But, doc said no real food until tomorrow, only water and chicken broth. So, tonight I baked a chicken and before it went in the oven, I skinned it and boiled it down, added a little baby cereal (cuz she's STARVING!!) and she ate a little. Mostly, I want her to drink a little. Just not enough to make her urp.
Tomorrow will be worse for her but then she'll begin to heal!!!!
Thanks Citcat and everyone. I can't wait to see you and Trixie on Saturday!
The posts do make me feel better...you all are amazing!

Delaney is back to old self...for a while. Then she sleeps just long enough to recharge. She and Mollie are playing with a beach ball at the moment.
It sure seems LOTS of BN furry babies are having troubles and recovery. I hope they are all on the mend like my little one. Many prayers and PHIN power headed to all in need!!
