Livenation just added a very cool tool to their website. Go to the livenation site below and click on "Interactive 3D Seating Chart" You can see the view of the stage from your seat.

So what are some other good choice to eat out in the Irvine area besides Las Brisas? I just want to have some choices besides Las Brisas for Friday night although it's still in the lead.

check out the spectrum. those living in the area can tell you more about it, but for now, my take, is that it is an outdoor mall with plenty of ph friendly bars and resturants. also while your in the area, check out newport beach.
good luck

Spectrum has Dave & Buster's, Fox Sports Grill, Yardhouse, Cheesecake Factory, and several other restaurants. Click on Link Below, then on Directory and finally Restaurant Guide.

Seeing that you are coming from TX, be sure to try places you can't find in your area. Yard House at the spectrum is cool, and has plenty of beer options if you are a beer drinker (100+ on tap). Las Brisas is nice and has a great view, but the food isn't all that great. Las Brisas is nice to go to early and grab a spot on the patio and have some drinks and guacamole. For Mexican food in Laguna I'd go down the street to Javiers. There is also a Javiers at the spectrum, but it isn't as nice of a setting as the one in laguna.
Newport is always great, and it's where I currently live. Irvine, Newport, and Laguna have a ton of options...Newport and Laguna though require a 15 minute drive from Irvine (if staying in Irvine).

Does anyone know if you can leave a car at the venue overnight in case too many people twist my arm and it is not wise to drive? Or do you have to pace yourself?

I called the venue to ask about leaving a car overnight. He said they don't like when people leave their cars, as they share the parking lot with the water park next door. However, he said he won't tow a car if the driver left the car because they had to much to drink

As long as the car is out by 9am when the water park opens, you should be fine.
That's what I'm doing. Driving there, cabbing it back home. Getting out of the Irvine lot sucks, so for those of us cabbing it, is it best to walk out the the street and grab a cab from there? That would be my guess...

Off subject....
But if anyone is a car enthusiast and your are staying near the spectrum, I'd recommend going to Cars & Coffee on Saturday morning. It is a free show where people show off their classic and exotic cars. They meet every Saturday morning from 7am-9am, at the Ford lot by the spectrum.
For more info and maps, check out:
http://www.carsandcoffee.info
For those coming from out of town, if you've never seen Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Bentleys, Aston Martins, etc. up close, here's your free chance!

So is this really going to be enforced:
"Per direction of the Irvine Police Department, all aisles must be kept clear.
No tents, no bars, no piles of sand, or anything else that you can think of will be allowed to be set up behind or adjacent to your vehicle."
We are planning on setting up our mobile entertainment center, and if they are going to not allow it, we would need to adjust our plans a bit.

The La Quinta has had several events at it (Migration being 1). I've stayed there several times. Tia Juana's Mexican Bar is there along with Knollwood's which is good for breakfast in the morning. The only bad thing is that it's right next to the train tracks.

If you drink more, you'll never hear 'em....

Hey girlie girl! It's Betsy & Jeff, the wedding photographers you and your mom met at MOTM last year as well as Mark & Gary's show out in AZ!
We're going to the show next weekend. We'll have to look for you at La Quinta before hand. You still have our #?
Looking forward to a good show!
STOKED you're going to IslandFest too!!!

So if you back your vehicle in and set up everything in front you should be ok right?? Hey it never hurts to try.

That's pretty much how it was the last time we were at Irvine (2 1/2 yrs ago... the last time Jimmy played there). We sandwiched things in between our cars and actually did manage to park next to each other which was clutch.
In our experiences at both Irvine and SD, there's been a lot of "talk" beforehand from the powers that be and then things are a bit more relaxed once you're actually there. It's just an attempt to tone it down somewhat. Irvine has historically been pretty "out of control" (all a matter of perception, though). It's usually a REALLY active tailgate scene. Wish JB was doing SD this fall!!!!

2 1/2 years ago? That must be a typo, right? Jimmy played Irvine in April 2006.

It wasn't that way last year in Irvine. The aisles weren't blocked, but people did have tiki bars, barbecues, etc behind their cars, and in the motorhome rows it was pretty wild. Irvine PD was VERY cool about the whole scene.

One thing I noticed from last time...after you park, don't set up your stuff until the next row of cars are parked. The Irvine police help the lot attendants park the cars. If you start to set up something big, you will be told to take it down. Once the cars are all parked in your area, you're free to do whatever---just make sure you don't block the aisles that have to be there for emergencies.
The Irvine police are nice...just keep things cool...they are mainly looking for underage drinkers. For those of legal age, just pour and drink out of those red or blue solo plastic cups and you'll be fine.
This will be my 21st Buffett show...there have never been any problems...except tailgating used to start at 11am...
I'll see everyone on Saturday starting around 2:30....It'll be me and my son Shane....in my Silver/Black Mini with the SDPR8HD (San Diego Parrothead) plates.

I agree completely with Daddymention......
I went to both Jimmy shows last year in Irvine in our bus. There was plenty of set up tents, volcanos, even bands. The aisles were full, once the cars were parked. Irvine PD did push some stuff back, but overall, set-ups were fine.
DM....love the license plate.
We will be there in two vehicles by 2 pm, black escalade with FINS BUS plates (taken from our bus alas, not in attendance and our white convertible with PIRET40 plates. BNer's, stop by of you see us. We went to both Boston shows two weeks ago in our bus and the shows were great!!!

WE stayed overnigh for both shows last year in our bus. No hassle.
We woke up to 20 or so cars scattered around the lot. We drove right out.
We intend to leave a vehicle and have a driver take us home. I do not forsee an issue.

I am planning to leave my car there overnight also, so worst case maybe we can get a group rate for the tow bill.

Toy Haulers
Posted: September 26, 2007 1:40 pm
by John L
I noticed that Irvine website says "no trailers of any kind" so I would guess that means toy haulers. So I called them and they did say no toy haulers, but does anyone remember seeing those there in the past years? I mean, do they just say that, then let them in anyway. I would just hate to get there with one and be turned around.
