For the record, I like beer....
Hmm... I'd imagine Boat Drinks need to conjure up a tropical setting... so when its 20 degrees and the hockey game's on, you can have a 'mental vacation' for a while.
So if beer makes you hot I guess you can consider it a boat drink.

Beer doesn't make me hot....but enough of it makes me flexible......

It has to be the sort of drink that would be served on a sailboat or a cruise ship, any sort of drink that would go well with a paper umbrella. It can be a virtual paper umbrella.
My favorite is the Yellow Bird, as made at the Frangipani Hotel bar on Bequia.
But usually just drink rum and cola.

I drank myself positively stupid on Yellow Birds on a Carnival Cruise one time.....it was the infamous cruise that we got 86'd.....apparently I like them, too!

My favourite Boat Drink would have to be consuming a large Margarita while sitting under the Albatross at the Margaritaville Cafe in Orlando, just looking at the plane and drinkin' margaritas there is very special,
also, I do remember having some kind of Boat Drink at The Chart Room Bar in KW, but don't remember it, I guess I had a lot of them.
