So........I guess a little cocaine in your pocket is ok??

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) - Lindsay Lohan reached a plea deal
Thursday on misdemeanor drunken driving and cocaine charges that
calls for her to spend one day in jail and serve 10 days of
community service and complete a drug treatment program.
"She's getting what everyone else would get," Deputy District
Attorney Danette Meyers said after an hourlong hearing.
Lohan was charged earlier in the day with seven misdemeanors
stemming from two drunken-driving arrests in the last four months.
More serious felony drug charges were not filed, prosecutors said,
because tests showed there wasn't enough cocaine on her to warrant
them.

I think the more serious felony charges they are talking about would be intent to distribute, posession would not be a felony, for personal use. They probably figured it was not worth their time prosecuting on posession charges, because nobody goes to jail for posession anyway, especially a celebrity that can afford an expensive lawyer.

Apparently US currency is almost all contaminated with cocaine; you'd need a way of distinguishing between real users and folks who just happen to have some "on them."

As for Lindsay, maybe they caught her right after she'd finished dosing herself, so there wasn't enough detritus left to get her the bigger charge. (*shrug*) Who knows?

Then again, she's acting nearly serious about this rehab stint, so maybe she'll come out of this okay. Hard to tell.

She probably had just a small vial with enough for a line or two. which amounts to not much at all. The amount she got caught with is probably the same amount that if anyone else who hasn't been in the news about that stuff the cop would keep for his own personal use.
