more questions about 9-02/Gillette

We are driving into Gillette from about 3 hours away and although a huge Buffett fan I've never attended one of his concerts. Answers to a few questions would be greatly appreciated.
...We will be arriving early. (at least by12:00) Where should we park?
...Will there be food and drink for purchase upon arrival and before the concert? Should we pack a cooler?
...I understand tailgating is a big part so we want to be certain we obtain the full effect. Any ideas will be helpful.
...We have reserved a room in Staughton. How far a drive will it be following the concert.

Bring a cooler with plenty of food and lot's of water as there is almost no shade in any of the parking lots also note that according to the Gillette Stadium website the lots will not be opening until 4:30pm and MA State Police are advising people not to show up early.
