Who: Let me tell you a little about Susan. She's really someone that I admire. Susan is a member of my HCV forum and underwent 72 weeks of treatment for HCV. It's not a easy treatment as it is chemo only not infused like many cancer patients.
Earlier this year she had to stop treatment for a few weeks to undergo gallbladder surgery and once done with that, she resumed her HCV treatment to complete a total of 72 weeks.
She completed treatment at the end of July.
What: Prior to her diagnosis she had participated in several walks for Breast Cancer. Because of the side effects of treatment, she was unable to participate during that time. Now that she's completed her treatment she's decided to pick back up with her working towards awareness and hopefully someday a cure for breast cancer. Her walk is Oct 26 .
Why: Several of the people on my forum have witnessed the kindness of parrotheads firsthand and are always amazed by the things we parrotheads can do.
I know many of you have already contributed to other walks and other worthwhile causes but as she posted on my forum " So, whether you're able to give $5 or $500, every bit truly does help."
