Traffic, parking, arrests, sound quality, sight lines/distance to stage, comparisons to prior venues, quality of the Buffett experience, etc., etc., etc.
Let's see how pholks feel on the 3rd...

Um....isn't the concert still coming up?

I know that it's a totally different venue...but everyone hated the idea of Wrigley Field, too. And those concerts were GREAT!!!

I was talking to someone tailgating yesterday at the Gillette show, and they said that Jimmy won't be playing back at GW unless he's willing to play sometime other than Labor Day, as GW is being used as part of the Golf tournament now, and they get big money for it.
Personally, I have mixed feelings. Part of me would love to see him back at GW, smaller more intimate feeling than Gillette and less hassles parking. But, Labor Day weekend for me is Jimmy time ( kinda like fireworks on 4th of July), and I'd love to keep that part of my calendar intact if I can. Besides, maybe after Gillette gets the construction done, and they see how Parrotheads aren't the rough crowd they had at the Country Festival last month, next year things will get better.
All in all, parking wasn't that bad last night. We were set up by 1:15 and enjoyed a great day of meeting fellow PHs, and living out many classic Jimmy tunes :D
After the show, we warmed up the grill, had a bite to eat, packed up our stuff and left the lot with little traffic just after midnight. We were staying at the Holiday inn Express about 3 miles away, and it took us 5 minutes to get there. Both of us were surprised how quickly we got back to our room.
Just my 2 cents,
C-Dawg

It seems Jimmy was aware of the Brouhaha with the parking and the extra police for us rowdy Parrotheads or perhaps I just read too much into his comments. I personally hope he's back in Foxboro next year just because it's possible for fans to get tickets without feeding the scalpers. And just for the record there are a lot of REAL phanz out there that usually end up tailgating in their backyard and listening to Jimmy on the radio because they can't get tickets to the show.

I was really surprised with the town of Foxboro's attitude and felt it was unreasonable. I sent a letter to the editor of a local newspaper and gave them a written tongue lashing and mocked them, I don't know if it was printed but they deserved the unkind words. Hopefully they will not be so unreasonable in the future.

He's played GW on other dates besides Labor Day weekend. It was 1-2 years ago he was there in June...

Jimmy likes playing the bigger venues because his payment is 110% of the gate. Which means he makes a crap load. For each show. Just think about 10 percent of the beer and shirts sold---thats all him.

Well he didn't get much on beer at Gillette with them closing all alcohol 15 minutes after he went on. Those people in Foxboro, or the town government at least, are just...stupid.
