Gillette works for most and certainly for JB

closing beer stands to 60k people some of whom have been partying, passing out, and hurling since noontime.... I think that this is fairly prudent. But perhaps you would like to have more drunk drivers on the roads after the show just as long as the tax base is enriched? I found the police and security at Gillette to be pretty hands off. Other than a few isolated incidents, I doubt they were busting people's rocks without some form of just cause.
Jimmy will come back to GS if they let him for the simple reason that 60k x average ticket price x2 = a helluva lot more than 19.9k x average Tweeter Center ticket price x 2 (or 3 or 4 etc.). He would probably have to play about 6 nights at Tweeter Center to get close to the 2 Gillette shows.
I am totally cool with JB making more cash and pleasing more folks but if you think he will defer back to Tweeter for sentimental reasons...I think you're still in the Gillette parking lot smoking something.
I spoke with one of the head security people and he said that the Buffett crowd was 10x better behaved than the Country Fest with the biggest issue being people just drinking too much, falling and banging heads, etc. The Country Fest crowd had a lot of fighting and drunken disorderly behavior (not exactly a shocking revelation).

I don't seem to recall anyone complaining about the Police at the concert. We did complain and rightly so that the town government and Chief of Police were over-reacting well before the concert.
Also, Foxboro's or Massachusett's tax base is of no concern to me as I am from neither so I don't get your comment with regard to how it would somehow benefit me. I'm not looking for more drunks on the road and I can tell you that if they are so drunk that they are a danger on the road closing the beer sales isn't really going to help. I think most people this day and age are smart enough to come with a designated driver. I only pray that the police catch those few idiots who do not have a DD before they get out of the parking lot.
I personally hope that Jimmy never returns to Mansfield though I have been told the tailgatting is significantly better. I only hope so because I don't buy from scalpers and wouldn't get to see Jimmy again most likely as I never have been able to get tickets to any of his Mansfield shows.
I do hope that the town of Foxboro gets their heads out of their fifth point of contact because if they think they are improving the traffic issues with their parking plan they are totally clueless because the traffic has NEVER been this bad getting into and out of the lots since they built the new stadium and added the extra lanes on Rt. 1.

I don't suspect that Foxboro parking/traffice will improve much until all of the Kraft's plans are completed (probably another couple/few years). Actually, traffic will never really work for the stadium as there just aren't enough major roads surrounding the stadium closely.
Foxboro gets a serious boost from a Stadium that is barely even in their town! so don't get me wrong, I'm not defending them. Walpole is far more compromised in many ways.
I just don't get the need for beer sales at a buffett show period. If someone really needs to spend $8 for a watered down beer to keep their buzz going, I am thinking a remedial tailgating course is in order.
But that said, no offense meant to you jeepndd I am not responding directly to you, just sounding off on some other themes and posts I have read.

Although I agree with you with regard to the construction to some extent I do know of an exception that if addressed I believe would improve the situation. Lot 3 is also the handicap lot and I attend football games and attended the first JB concert there and it was among the last to open and we have a friend who is handicapped so we were among those jockeying for this lot. That lot should open as early as P10 is since it is the handicap lot. If they could reduce the jockeying I think they could improve the traffic issues. Also not telling 60,000 fans that they should all show up at the same time for an event, that would help improve traffic flow too. While I am not a traffic flow engineer I do have friends who are and they think the town of Foxboro and the stadium staff have no clue of what they are doing either and I value their opinions.
