This has got to be one of the funniest threads I've seen. Thanks for making my day, I'm smiling and laughing at work, on a Friday.

There's nothing like making a mountain ...... out of a mole hill!

Gary Coleman was the black little kid on Different Strokes. Emmanuel Lewis was a different black little kid on Webster.

Kenny Chesney sang with Jimmy on Volcano in Nashville.
Alan Jackson also appeared at that show & sang on Margaritaville.

Maybe if Kenny makes an appearance, he'll guest on Manana and sing the "anyone there really wanna get small" lyric.

Snake wrote:The anti-Chesney feelings on this board truly amaze me. I had the opportunity to see my first Chesney concert this summer at PNC Bank Arts Center and it was awesome. Great tailgate...Sugarland did a great job opening (after Pat Green) and Kenny put on a tremendous show.

I believe this thread started with a fellow parrothead suggesting would it not be great for Chesney to "SHOW UP" at Foxboro this Sunday. The poster did not say anything about Chesney putting on his own concert, or even playing a couple of songs, he/she just thought it would be cool for Chesney to perhaps sing License to Chill with Jimmy...I mean Mac writes songs for both Chesney and Jimmy for God's sake.

Never once did the poster say Kenny is better than Buffett or anything even close to that. The fact is that Jimmy is not going to be around forever (unfortunately for all of us) and I for one am looking for a similiar type of "concert environment." I think I found one with Chesney. Agree or disagree, but that is what I have seen first hand.

Can't wait until September 20th when Jimmy rolls into MSG!!!! Let the vertically challenged jokes about Chesney continue (some are pretty funny).
Ditto Snake. I for one would be a happy camper. I have loved Jimmy since the early 80's and have only started following Kenny for a couple of years. It's notjust about the show, it's about the atomosphere. Kenny is no Jimmy, and Jimmy certainly isn't Kenny. But I know when I'm at both of their show's I'm loving life and feeling good. What more could you ask for.

I got to see Kenny for the first time this year at Ford Field..and although the acoustics s*** at stadium shows, I thought he was a dissapointment. The tailgates are scotch and water to JB, without the scotch. Chesney hasn't found his niche with the tropical thing, he's only trying to follow JB in lifestyle, lyrics, etc. I know I know we all are too..but I prefer having ONE man lead the lifestyle instead of having another try his butt off to copy the legend.

I'll take Buffett's 27 song set list, intersong commentary, tailgate experience, double encores, and voice of the tropics over a dry voiced, miniature cowboy, 15 songs..even if Mr. Chesney attracts a fine amount of young women to his show..

My point: Scoreboard reads..Buffett 93095832098523 Chesney 4

ft tall

DING DING DING DING DING

WE HAVE A WINNER!!!

Re the comment a page or so back that said JB and KC are about the same... No, they're not. I like both, but JB is light years ahead of KC when you consider the whole package. JB is an accomplished singer/songwriter, a consummate storyteller, and a great performer.

IMHO, KC is a decent songwriter and a high energy performer who puts on a great show. I've been to two of his shows and enjoyed them immensely. Like O40VOF said above, what more could you ask for?

Kenny is no Jimmy - at least not yet - but the relentless KC bashing around here sure gets old..... :-? :-?
