A visit to Margaritaville (Brewing Company) Jacksonville

Post by Desdamona »

Mr. Buffett may avoid doing shows in Jacksonville (one in the last 10+ years),
but he apparently paid a visit to our fair city to check out the bottling line last
month. The brewery is about 5 miles from my house, but I couldn't get a real
confirmation of his visit until today...

Maybe we'll get a real Margaritaville here... some day... ...please?

Send me one and I'll post it! But since it was the same brewery,
it may not qualify as big news. You should have called me to meet you there!

I was at a bar down in St. Pete's where my daughter goes to college and I found out from an Anheuser Busch rep that they own a portion of Landshark. She gave me one for free as I was dying to try one as we don't have it here in PA. Good stuff-anyway I was surprised to hear that for some reason. They also own a share of Corona.

Thank God the Tiki Bar is Open!

Jimmy is a smart guy. I never would have expected Corona to survive. There are beer companies that already make cheap beer like Budwieser and Old Milwaukee. Along comes Corona which is cheaper and to make it even nastier they put it in a clear bottle which makes it turn skunky long before you even buy it. They originally sold it at bars with a slice of lemon but now put limes in it to kill/mellow the flavor and smell. And for this cheap beer which requires adding fresh lime to it to make it palatable they charge premium beer prices for it. And why can the do this, because they sold it as escape to paridise beer successfully. And whose music is escapism paradise style? If Corona isn't afraid they should be because Jimmy is going to take a huge chunk of their market.

Rumor had it that at Mohegan Sun last Thursday, the Landshark people were asking the early tailgaters to trade their Corona posters for Landshark posters!
