Help with Tiki Bar
Sorry if this is an repeat question-I am looking for a small Tiki Bar for outside-about 2 feet wide 4-5 feet long and about 7' or so high--if anybody knows where to get one or build something like that please let me know--the ones I found online were all about $1000
I want to go back to the island,
Where the shrimp boats tie up to the pilin'.
Give me oysters and beer for dinner ev'ry day of the year

If you are somewhat handy, build your own. I did, it's about 4' x 10' with a palm frond roof varnished bat-top and 5 bamboo chairs.
The whole thing cost me about $1,000.00, and a good chunk of that were the chairs.
I can forward you pictures if you'd like for scale.

I used pressure treated wood and varnished the bar-top a few times to seal it. I'm trying to put a couple of coats on every year to add thickness as well.parrotheadstueby wrote:Pics and and a list of materials you chose would be great-maybe a winter project-what did you treat th ematerial in so you could leave it outside?ConchRepublican wrote:If you are somewhat handy, build your own. As for all season, I haven't kept it open through the winter, usually I close it up before the first snow. It basically becomes a big shed. I drape a large tarp over the top, store the yard furniture inside, and then secure the tarp with bungees, so I can get in easily if need be. After a snow, I'll brush most of it off the top to reduce any stress on the roof. I also remove the palms and store them in the basement, I was concerned about them getting funky under the tarp.
