Hope you are correct. The people that work there still think this is the last year.

Rumors were that Route 66 was trying to host a Buffett concert a few years ago. Only other option is one of the Chicago stadiums.

Would be smarter if he played the speedway instead of the drag strip

Other options for Jimmy is to play :

Soldier Field
Toyota Park
Ryan Field (Northwestern)
Grant Park
Soldier Field is your only TRUE Option here - the rest s*** . . . of course they could open up Wrigley again . . .
Grant Park a close 2nd but too open imo

Toyota Park though the sound is good is a logistical nightmare inside and out. Crowd Mgmt is a joke and it's needed more every year for Jimmy.
Ryan Field . . . has any event ever happened there.

I'd love a new venue out here in the southwest burbs. It's the only area with enough land and highway to make any sense. Sorry Northsiders.

I've been debating ALpine because I have yet to do it. Unfortunately I fear it wouldn't be fair to the countless virgins I just molested this July.

BTW if anyone stopped by my tailgate and has some pictures it would be greatly appreciated . . . .please?

Crowd Management at Toyota was EXCELLENT for Clapton--much better then the previous week at Jack Bash.

Im all for the Speedway---plenty of FREE PARKING, and wide open spaces-- could be really insane esp if they let you camp on the grounds.

Were you at the same Crossroads? THe lot was a mess. Concessions from the field were insane. If you wanted to walk around you were f'd there was no where to walk along the horseshoe because the concession lines were so slow and long . . . . I loved the sound and the close proximity but outside of that . . . no thanks not a place to party the parrothead way.

Evanston would never allow it. And they would need to truck in lights as Ryan is not a lighted stadium.

But they serve Guinness. I was smart, I brought in a bottle of rum for the show, and just went to the Pepsi vendor just outside my seats. I knew there was no way I was gonna be able to afford to buy beers all day long at 8 bucks each.

Problem for this venue is that Jimmy was the only sell out and it showed by the parking and gate people being overwhelmed. They are not making the money they used to there so I cant see it being open for much longer.

I wish I could see those words printed about Alpine, if it's Buffett at Tinley or nothing.....Tinley it is.

Very exciting!!! Think about how many times people could get "holed up" if we start the thread now! (I think that was what it was called!)
