Soldier Field is your only TRUE Option here - the rest s*** . . . of course they could open up Wrigley again . . .Big Jimmy wrote:Candyman wrote:Hope you are correct. The people that work there still think this is the last year.Big Jimmy wrote:Well midwest parrotheads, your prays have been answered. The worst venue on the face of the planet, next to alpine valley will be saved for one more year it looks. From what I hear they gave a one year stay. Its a shame that they have to keep open a really crappy venue.
Rumors were that Route 66 was trying to host a Buffett concert a few years ago. Only other option is one of the Chicago stadiums.
Would be smarter if he played the speedway instead of the drag strip
Other options for Jimmy is to play :
Soldier Field
Toyota Park
Ryan Field (Northwestern)
Grant Park

Grant Park a close 2nd but too open imo
Toyota Park though the sound is good is a logistical nightmare inside and out. Crowd Mgmt is a joke and it's needed more every year for Jimmy.
Ryan Field . . . has any event ever happened there.
Were you at the same Crossroads? THe lot was a mess. Concessions from the field were insane. If you wanted to walk around you were f'd there was no where to walk along the horseshoe because the concession lines were so slow and long . . . . I loved the sound and the close proximity but outside of that . . . no thanks not a place to party the parrothead way.Big Jimmy wrote:mjeischen wrote:Soldier Field is your only TRUE Option here - the rest s*** . . . of course they could open up Wrigley again . . .Big Jimmy wrote:Candyman wrote:Hope you are correct. Crowd Management at Toyota was EXCELLENT for Clapton--much better then the previous week at Jack Bash.
Im all for the Speedway---plenty of FREE PARKING, and wide open spaces-- could be really insane esp if they let you camp on the grounds.
Evanston would never allow it. And they would need to truck in lights as Ryan is not a lighted stadium.mjeischen wrote:Soldier Field is your only TRUE Option here - the rest s*** . . . of course they could open up Wrigley again . . .Big Jimmy wrote:Candyman wrote:Hope you are correct.
