What a remarkably tragic, but at the same time, remarkably beautiful touching story. I felt compelled to post becuase tonight will be the first time I will be sharing this experince with one of my children - my 10 year old daughter. I was hoping the same JB magic that has touched my wife, myself and the myriad other Phans would have the same indelible effect on our, and everyone's else most precious treasure - our children. Your words and story solidify that belief.

Welcome Phrank

I am so sorry for your loss but at least you have wonderful memories of her and JB. I also wonder what FINS looks like from Heaven, I know it looks awesome from down here. I will think of your daughter the next time I hear it!!

wow, what a wonderful story. sorry for your loss. I have two sons, 11 and 8. I can not imagine losing them. They love Buffett (never really had a choice). However my wife and I become greedy around concert season and find a reason not to take them. They have asked to go... maybe I need to rethink...thanks for sharing. (And I agree that is an awesome experience, seeing those fins move left-right, left-right...)

hey phrank, you should see about reposting your story on the Barometer soup for the Parrothead Soul thread, so more people can hear this truly inspirational story.

My deepest sympathy on your loss.

Big Dawg, take your keets, maybe not to every show. We've been taking our keet, (she's 11) for the last 2 years. She doesn't go everytime but we have a great time & memories from the one she does.

Do yourself a favor and just DO IT!!! :D . Brought my 10 year old to her first show on Tuesday and it was remarkable!! I don't think I have ever seen a look on her face like I saw that evening. It was truly magical...she got it. She got the music (well, she's had no choice with that since she been hearing it with mom and dad her whole life), she got the vibe, she got aura, she got the magic, she got it all. At the tender age of 10 she is officially a Parrothead. I will never forget that night and I know she won't either.

It was such a remarkable event that my wife and I decided to dip into our Christmas savings and splurge on tickets for tonight's show as well. However, tonight we are bringing our 10 year old AND our 6 year old daughters (the little one's favorite song - Party at The End Of The World. At 6 she is a true party girl!). I'm hoping that same magic/lightning/etc. will strike twice. Now, if we could only figure out how to bottle that stuff...
