Packing

Post by SMLCHNG »

Ok, I'll fully admit I'm a suitcase 'overpacker' when it comes to going on trips.

But I'm curious if there's something you almost always pack, even though you know that the hotel you're going to stay at is supposed have/supply??

For me? It's my hair dryer. Now, those of you who have seen my picture or met me in person, know how short/fine my hair is. ;) The dryer is more for fluffing and I run it for MAYBE 15 seconds.  :P But I gotta have it.

Are you a neurotic suitcase packing person??

I'll travel for a week in a bag that fits as my carry-on, so that should tell you everything...

I'm short, and not strong. ;) I can't even reach or lift something into the carry-on, so I'm a checker.

:-? with a c-pap I have to carry stuff..
and I have learned an extention cord is a must.
I leave some stuff packed.
travel chargers,sunglasses, shampoo toothpaste etc.
that just stays in my bags.. hangers for my clothes..

I have flying bags and "camping/Hunting bags"
the camping bags have shells and knives in them..
not something I want going on an airplane.

and yes I over pack..

Totally neurotic suitcase packer......my husband always teases me....and reminds me that we aren't going on safari to Africa.....

Like you, I have to have my own hair dryer......I'm a hairdryer snob...I have really thick hair it it takes forever to dry with those weak ass hotel dryers...

Lots of other things....always overpack clothes because I never know what I'm going to feel like wearing.....

Did have to learn how to scale back taking bike trips this year....so maybe I'll get it eventually!

And of course, was 90+ when we got back today 8)

Always take my alarm clock and use it even though every hotel has a clock radio in every room now.

And I do lots of "just in case packing-usually have at least one day's extra underwear in case I have to stay an extra day or something. and always have too many clothes, cuz you just never know what you are going to feel like wearing.

  That I'm not typical on. I usually wear tennis shoes while traveling, and a pair of sandals if I'm going somewhere warm. ;)
