Croce/Goodman/Buffett

Post by Goodman »

Today marks the passing of two great artists whose influence on JB was great. Jim Croce -9/20/73 and Steve Goodman -9/20/84.

I expect Jimmy will dedicate a tune to my namesake tonite, but I wish he'd properly tip his hat to Jim Croce with a cover of some sort.

Sail on, Jim.
Sail on, Steve.

I bet the joint is rockin' where you are.

I am in the middle of reading Steve Goodman: Facing the Music. I love it so far. Its a little long for me, but so far it has been great, and extremely sad too.
If I had it all to do over again,
I'd just get myself drunk and I'd jump right back in!!!

I have it, but haven't started it yet. But he was sick for so long-I heard about it years before he died, that we almost came to expect that he would continue to be sick forever, but would keep making that wonderful music.
