At this point, Jimmy could have retired with plenty of $$ for several lifetimes....

I'm just glad he's still playing big venues that allow so many of us to enjoy the show. If you think he's not the greatest performer, or don't like what he plays, fine - don't go. As for the covers (Glory Days, On the Road Again) I think he's just playing songs he likes, and showing flashes of his (great) sense of humor.

As long as he keeps playing, he could cover J-Lo medleys and I'd still show up for the party.
Couldn't agree more.

I've come to grips with the idea that without SYKBH, it is not a "Jimmy Buffett Concert" for the majority of the people there.

He is creeping fairly close to a fun (and expensive) cover band at the biggest family picnic you've ever been to :D

That said, I go to have fun and hear that one song I love or have never heard Jimmy perform before - even if it is a cover. I stayed in my seat this year to hear In My Room.

About the standing up.... my brother who is a rock musician and has been to quite a few, diverse concerts, too, was surprised to see everyone standing all the time for Jimmy's Chicago show....
Some of us are getting a bit old, you know, and our feet and knees have trouble with all day partying (standing and walking) followed by standing on that hard, cold, highly sloped concrete..... I'll stand up to dance to my favourite songs, and when on the lawn at Toronto, I stood up to get the lawn-kinks out of my old knees, but I don't see why it's necessary to stand all the time

Even if Jimmy did lots of songs from his latest albums, that would be a lot of covers, too, wouldn't it?

I love to see him anywhere, anytime I can.
His shows are an added bonus that cap off the perfect party.
I really believe he is playing what he wants. He's still having fun.
Finally I really do believe he reads BN and listens to what we ALL are saying here
I think so too, and it scares the #$@^@%^ out of me that he might say "Well if they don' t like it anymore, maybe I'll just go fishing."

My advice.... the man is still showing up to play, so quitcherbitchin. :-?

I was at the show last night...no one was sitting down, the place was loud, and the set list was great

I mean when was the last time he played Jamacia????

I can't even speak today, and my legs hurt, and my feet stink, and I....well you know

Good point. I listen to a lot of the live shows and you hear much of the same stuff over and over. But to 90% of the live crowd, it's the only time this year they'll hear any of it. I try to remember that before complaining about the setlist, and appreciate the gems that I do get to hear.

Well, I guess the answer to that is quite a bit

Although I've never seen it live

Great show

No. I think it's just a website where you can hear his concerts live. But if it is a double edged sword just leave where you found it. If you try to move it you get hurt.

Standing, standing on chairs, dancing, swaying to the music - ah that is the Jimmy Buffett concert experience!!

For the Toronto show I "sat" in my actual seat for the intermission and for 1 song in the second set as security asked us too!

For the rest of the show I either stood on the floor and danced to the tunes or stood on my chair and loved every muniute of it!!

And before someone "slams" me for standing on my chair - we were in the last row of section 102 on the floor and even standing on my chair the row behind me could still sit and easily see over me (I know because I checked and also asked the people behind me!!).

Also made for taking some cool pictures too! :)

For me if I want to go to a concert and just sit and listen to the music I choose James Taylor or Josh Groban for that!!

When I go to a Buffett, Springsteen or ACDC concert I expect I will be standing the vast majority (and singing, dancing, fist-pumping)! :)

Well, to try to get it back on topic, I must ask the author what Jimmy's problem is?? The conclusion wasn't very conclusive.

Buffett is an ENTERTAINER. In that regard, he still succeeds on a daily basis.

That's what I think....He's an incredible entertainer who has an eye for FABULOUS musicians.....he surrounds himself with some of the greatest musicians in the business and the result is magical........

I'll still b*tch about glory days......but overall, still no better game in town.
